His stats this season.

D-Will has 3 more tds this season than Foster has his entire career and Stewart is only 2 behind, im still trying to figure out why we kept him so long.

And his two playoff games in 05, it was between him and Spoon. I remember asking people who they rather keep(not on huddle just in general) and was shocked by how many said Foster. Spoon is the one player that hurt to let get away as a Panther fan. Foster had a decent season in 05 but didnt warrant a deal over Spoon. I didnt hold it against the coaches b/c we had more depth at LB and would be harder to replace a RB. Good thing we still draft Williams that next year.

No kidding. I really didn't miss this one when he got banned.

I am glad to see so many in here refusing to talk teh smack about Foster.

Guy was a great teammate who did everything asked of him. I don't understand people reveling in his status with SF.

on top of which, well, he really didn't get picked up to play on a team with an all-pro offense in SF.

Indeed. Foster has had some bad breaks in his career for sure. My own opinion of him has always been that he is a change of pace guy not an every down guy. He was so good in the passing game I was sure Martz would like that aspect and utilize it.

He was an excellent receiving back. I always thought that a WCO would've been the best system for him, because he would be better off splitting time catching and running the ball and it wouldn't be so much pounding up the middle, he wasn't that kind of guy. He wasn't durable enough for that, and now, after so many years and how many injuries, I think it might be too late for him. If he was drafted by the Eagles or another WCO team you probably would still see him on highlights.

That's an interesting point RB. I don't know if he is as quick as Westie but I think he could have been a good fit in that type system.

The way Henning used Foster was one of my beefs with Henning, though I didn't think he was the root of all evil or anything. Some of it wasn't Henning's fault though since they weren't exactly bubbling over with extremely talented RBs or a good OL most of the years he was in Charlotte. Though I do believe he had say in the OL personnel which WOULD be his fault.

Think about that the next time you see Williams/Stewart rip off another stiffarm of the likes no one has seen since.... Foster.

good grief people...lay off the guy. never caused any trouble, always did what was asked of him and was a stand-up character.

his on the field issues were more to do with his rookie injury and the way he was used/coached than anything else.
