"Talk about that kid in Carolina, but this kid Dalton is pretty good"

Doesn't matter how the defense does. If Tennessee wins 31-26, it'll be "Cam still can't win" and "Dalton just beat this team", instead of the Panthers' defense couldn't stop a pee wee team.

Well, Cam is in a catch-22 situation. It's because of him rejuvinating the offense that the Panthers are in the top five in offense despite the defense sucking so badly. And it's because of him week the Panthers are favored to win with certain teams given how bad the denfense has gotten. So, when it's all said and done, Cam will get the brunt of the attention...Good, bad or indifferent.

Bet u dollars to donuts that Dalton won't be talked about much despite what he is doing...Why? beause The Golden Calf of Bristol won and there went Dalton's thunder..lol

Anyway, as we saw from the boring LSU/Crimson game last night, defense still wins games. Offense scoring just helps to make it easier.

you can state it, but it doesn't' make it true.

it was pretty well known they were looking for someone to replace Palmer. They originally hoped it could be someone who was groomed while Palmer played another couple seasons, but they targeted Dalton because they thought he fit what their OC wanted to do with the offense.

I can tell you haven't watched many Bengals games, so it's all good. Nobody is saying the Bengals aren't a complete team, but why does that mean that Dalton shouldn't get props? It's not as if Cam is being ignored. Dalton should get the credit he deserves for playing very well and helping his team to win.

Also, if we scored 29 points we'd have won 5 games this season. Just so happens that we're not actually scoring 29 points on average, so we need better defense. Ah well.

As to bringing up his defense, that's what I meant in saying "of course the Bengals are 6-2 for more reasons than Dalton", "that does not mean he's doing it alone", etc.

Your logic is ridiculous. The Panthers don't need to AVERAGE 29 points. They need a defense that can keep the other team below 29 points when they score 29. Or 27 points. Or 23 points.

IF YOU SCORE MORE THAN 21 POINTS, YOUR TEAM SHOULD WIN.

I don't need to watch a Bengals game, because this isn't about the "Bengals", it's about logic. The Bengals win because they have a defense that can get stops when they need stops. The Panthers lose, because no matter how many points their offense scores, the other teams is going to score more when they need to.

I'll give Andy Dalton props when he puts up good numbers against the Steelers and Ravens. They've played the weakest schedule in the league. I've said before that we'll see how good their WHOLE team is when they play the better teams on their schedule. They did beat Buffalo, but all it takes is a decent defense to be able to do that.

With Cincy's defense we'd have still lost Green Bay and maybe Atlanta I think. Newton was off his game against the Falcons anyway.

Observing that game with the Falcons, IMO, I really felt Cam was really pressing because he was in front of his family and friends and wanted to win...He is from Atlanta u know..:)

But honestly, it must be a bit of a emotional let down when u know u have to go into a game and rack up the score because ur defense will give TDs to the opposing team like candy on Halloween.

Bradshaw reminds me of these dads (and moms) that push their kids into sports and other activities so they can re-live their youth.

He made a comment last week about The Golden Calf of Bristol being an 'Adonis' and how he looked liked that back in the day....that fuger is gonna hear about that kid in Carolina for many more years to come

The games that we could have one with competent Defense:

-Arizona- even w/ the punt return we gave up huge yards to Kolb

-New Orleans- kust 1 more stop

-Chicago- entire game, horrible Defense

-Minnesota- even w/ the fumbles, we came back and scored and took the lead, couldn't stop their offense.

Green Bay would have found a way to beat us regardless. And in the ATL game, the defense sucked, but Cam's interception in the endzone and the one later in the game by the Dlineman killed us.

I don't think anyone has really said that Dalton is better than Cam. Even Bradshaw sounded like he was trying to be a jerk without actually saying it... because he knows it isn't true, but he hates having been wrong about Cam.

I do not think we would be undefeated with the Bengals defense, hence why I said that. I could see us being 6-2 with it though. :)

WHATEVER. Go to twitter and search "Dalton > Newton" or "Andy Dalton > Cam Newton". The movement has began because the media's "Dalton is winning" meme is sinking it.

It's the new anti-Newton rallying cry. Maybe you don't get it, but I do.

Like I said, the Bengals get stops when they need them, which is why "Dalton is winning". If the Panthers score 27 or 29 points, they still lose, because their Defense & Special Teams rank at the bottom of the league.

It's not rocket science. Apparently it's astrophysics to the twits on twitter who get their talking points from the fools on TV.

Cam was not pressing in that game. The Panthers DOMINATED 2/3 of that game. The first interception was a fluke, where the defender made a lucky play while running in one direction and contorting his body backwards to tip a ball that 90% of the times wouldn't have been touched. Take that away, the Panthers likely score going into halftime and score coming out of halftime like they did, and they're up 31 or 27 to 17, and it's a completely different game.

The 2nd interception hurt, but the Falcons had all of the momentum at that point anyway because the Defense couldn't get stops on multiple 3rd downs when they needed them. How the heck do you let Ryan stretch for 3rd & 2, Butler? How the heck do you let them get a 3rd & 12 on a pass to the sideline, Munnerlyn?

The defense killed the offensive momentum, because the Falcons moved down the field at will. A defense that can't get off the field has to affect an offense as much as an offense that can't stay on the field can affect a defense.

That's what I saw happen with Atlanta. The same thing that happened at the end of the Saints game when they took their precious time on that last scoring drive. Then we expected the offense to come back out and be prolific? Get real.

uhm. No, I really don't get it. How does this impact the team at all? How does this change anything? Do you think Cam cares if Dalton won a game? Hell, he might even be happy for him.

No poo that our special teams and defense blow.

Why does it matter if Bradshaw or some other douche thinks Dalton is better? Do you think that even if ESPN succeeded (as if this was their intent) at making the world think Dalton was a superior QB, it would somehow cripple this team? What the heck is the point?

Why is this "movement" so scary to you?
