"Talk about that kid in Carolina, but this kid Dalton is pretty good"

That's because you are arguing with people who have no idea how to use NFL rankings, and who has a good defense. They get their hands on numbers from NFL.com and have no idea what to do with them. They look at the total yards statistic, get confused, cause they hear the word "total" defense, and think Cincinnati has the best defense.

The reason Cinci's winning is they have a top 10 offense and we don't. Cinci's ranked 6th in efficiency and the main reason they are ranked so high in defense is cause they play bad offenses. We are ranked 22nd even though we have a "high powered" offense. All stats of a defense drop primarily on offensive efficiency and turnovers.

The difference between a positive and negative turnover margin is about 85% chance of winning the game. Most defenses can't even make up for 1 interception per game. But ours is one of the best at doing that tied for 5th in forced fumble recoveries. We have a good defense considering we are ranked 22nd in offense efficiency. People have no idea how to use numbers and rankings. If they would have gone to college they may have, because college football lives and dies by yard per point(and no the one for the defense is pretty much useless)

In the NFL, it's kept a secret so a bunch of guys can make a fortune on idiots in sports betting who bet on "top offenses" and "top defenses".

PS: An offenses inefficiency is tied at the hip with QB stats so we're losing because of Cam. But he is only half to blame. The other is the schedule. The second most important thing.

Our offense is ranked 4th in the NFL in offensive efficiency according to advanced nfl statistics and 29th on defense. This narrative you are trying to push has been a big fail at every turn. It is time to give it up.

In case you are wondering advanced nfl statistics breaks down everything to every single snap, field position, penalties, expected points per possession.

Someone who just looks at total yardage and thinks that is how you measure an offense or defense shouldn't tell others they don't know what they are looking at when they look at stats.

But explain to me, oh wise one, how statistics broken down to every single snap, and takes into account field position and penalties among many different things, differ so drastically from your narrative??

"efficiency" isn't a great way to judge offense either. Cinci has good defense and special teams, and like you said they play bad offenses, so they get a bunch of short fields. It's much easier to score with short fields.

Wait did you say we had a good defense? Oh wait this is PFFL isn't it.

Why don't they ip ban people around here?

How can they play bad offense when they have one of the top 10 most efficient offenses in the NFL?
