That doesn't sound materialistic at all. When I was in my 20's I dreaded being in my 30's...now I love it for many of the same reasons you mention. Plus I appreciate things in life more also. I am dreading my 40's now but people say that is better than the 30's.

I don't doubt that my life is only getting better. But there's also the fact that my body is only getting older. I really wish I hadn't enjoyed skateboarding so much. Certain joints are always going to hurt because of it.

I'm 42 and at the top of my game. I still rock a mohawk (profile pic) and i'm in the best shape of my life. Dating chicks half my age is pretty sweet too. :)

I got married too young to really have the normal 20's... so needless to say, I don't really look back on my 20s with much zeal either... :(

i suggest a longboard. its what i ride now. they are much more expensive but a chill kind of fun. i got mine used off craigslist for $60 instead of paying $200 new. nothing like carving a hill on it. my dog pulls me pretty fast too, and its reminiscent of wakeboarding.
