NFL Turning Point: Panthers vs Vikings (Video)

I've never been this happy before with the Panthers at 2-6. These games have been like a roller coaster ride, "OMG Cam and Smith!" and "oh no our defense is out of position and getting man handled." Even so, the defense can be fixed with draft picks and some time. The future looks bright.

really great segment put together but watching ponder walking off our field smiling made me sick

I agree. How many NFL throws did Ponder make for his team?! If you re-watch it, he dumped or threw 5 yard passes most of the game. It was not Pnder who won it, it was the out-of-positio play of our defense that made it look like Ponder had a good game. I get so tired of how ESPN & others 'spin' what happened based on the end result. Vikes won, no doubt, but Cam had a better game...except for those 2 fumbles. To put Ponder in Cam's class at this point is absurd.

I agree. I have some reservations about Rivera, but nothing major. The real upside of where we are is that he is a defensive specialist. If he can put together defenses like Chicago & SD (of course relies a lot on Hurney drafting the right guys too), we will be set not next year, but the year after. I'm not giving up on next year already, but just saying, in 2 years we should have 1 of the top Ds in the league to go with Cam & hopefully more weapons too.

Next season our defense will have (I assume/hope) a healthy Jon Beason, Thomas Davis, Ron Fields, and 4th round draft pick Brandon Hogan back, and whoever we draft and aqcuire in FA. I think next season's defense will be considerably better than this season's defense. I will have high expectations for next season's defense.

I don't have my hopes up for Beason.

Here's a pretty good write up on why.
