Andy Dalton

Him and Cam are being asked to do two completely different things. Dalton is being asked to minimize mistakes and let the defense and running game salt away games, and he is doing a great job with that. Cam is being asked to be the central piece in a big play offense and play to win games.

Both have been tremendous, but I'd obviously take Cam hands down.

I really like what Dalton's done and I think what Grits said in another thread is probably true. He's the heart of that team, not sure why he is just making the team play better. Now he's not the major reason they are winning though, his 4th quarter passing numbers are pretty darn bad.

Also as for OROTY, Cam's already a run away winner. All he has to do is not fall off of the map and he's won it. Nothing really that Dalton or anyone else can do. I'd also say that AJ green would be ahead of Dalton at this point.

I have a hard time figuring out why so many Panthers fans are spending one second thinking about how well a rookie for an AFC team is doing and getting defensive that some people think he is better than Cam. It is really strange.

Dalton would be in dire straits if he played the schedule the Panthers had earlier in the year. He'll go 0-4 against Pit/Bal this season and I expect his star to fade. They were a nice story in the first half but now it's crunch time........

But hey, he went to TCU so I guess beating up on inferior teams is something he's used to.

Newton > Dalton

Bengals > Panthers

Put Newton in Cincy and they're probably undefeated.

Put Dalton in Carolina and they probably have 1 win or winless.

ROTY goes to INDIVIDUAL players. Not to players whose TEAM WINS. No one player in the league wins games by himself. Right now, Newton has ROTY wrapped up.

mark it down. Bengals will go 0-4 against Bal/Pit

Actually i think they will have their hands full with Tennessee. I'm a big fan of Hasselbeck and wanted Carolina to sign him in the off season. Tennessee is lucky. Hasselbeck is head and shoulders above Vince Young and he has the Titans in the playoff hunt. Big game between the two. Its kind of funny that the 2 quarterbacks i wanted are playing against each other in a big game. Although a bit strange because i "know nothing about quarterbacks" as someone pointed out..

Bengals needed a game manager, someone that doesn't take many risks, and has limited mistakes, while their defense does its thing. They got a good one in Dalton. I'm sure Bengals fans are thrilled with their rookie qb.

Not sure I get the comparisons to Newton though. Newton is having a historic rookie season. One of the best , statistical rookie seasons for a qb, ever.
