I'm just not sure I understand the point of this thread. Anybody with a brain understands that there has been blame to go around in all three phases of the game.

There have been a couple of threads that attempted to put the blame on Cam for our losses, and anything that ridiculous is going to be disputed with a vengeance. Those threads are the exception, though, and you can just explain that by the presence of a couple of village idiots.

The defense has played poorly, and I think we all understand why. Special teams are a bit harder to explain. Offense has played better than expected, but no, it hasn't been flawless.

I think you are seeing boogey men that really don't exist.

You are right, our team does win and lose as a team.

The majority of the posts i saw after the game, was calling out a defense that actually improved. Calling out a kicker, who shouldn't have even been called upon to tie the game.

The special teams does suck. There is a reason for this that a lot of people don't think about.

When injuries take starters out, it also changes who plays special teams. Beason and davis played special teams. Not only that, but other guys who normally play special teams, now have a much larger role, and other guys play on the special teams in their place.

That will lead to inconsistency.

Will close with this, we are allowed to talk about how much the deefense sucks, but we can't talk about a couple of fumbles, or a 3rd quarter of "3 and outs".

That is a double standard. Don't care the reasoning.

I realize the majority is fine with it.

On top of it, i see majority of fans calling for mare's head, when the game never should have come down to a kick to TIE the game.

Mare fugged up a chip shot, he gets paid millions to make those. Calling for him to be cut may have been excessive but holding the guy accountable for missing a field goal that any other kicker in the leauge can make with a success rate over 90% of the time is certainly justified, especially when it negated a great drive by our offense to give him the chance to be an easy hero.

this team as a whole is doing all the necessary things to have a 2-6 record.

the offense is getting down the field, but it can't get into the end zone enough and it makes to many turnovers. it also makes to many penalties.

the defense can't stop the other team from getting down the field and it can't stop the other team from getting into the end zone enough and it doesn't get enough turnovers. it also makes too many penalties.

the special teams can't move the ball all that well and it can't stop the other team from moving it very well. it's not doing a good enough job blocking for kickers and the LS isn't snapping the ball well. returners have no holes to run through and coverage units do nothing but make holes for the other team to run through.

the strongest phase of the team is the offense. it can at least get the ball don the field and it can get on the scoreboard. the only problem is that they are making to many turnovers and too many penalties. they also get too conservative in the playcalling late in the game and when they have a lead.

the defense gets to porous late in the game. they allow too many big plays to happen. they allow too many points on the board and they crumble in the 4th. they can't stop the other team from moving the ball. they aren't the weakest phase, but they are weaker than the offense. the offense is having problem coming back from a deficit late in the game, but it's the defenses fault that they have to do that.

special teams are the weakest phase, though and it's not even close.

there is the double standard. The defense did produce well for majority of the game. Much more than anybody could have hoped for.

double standard that you are talking about you just did. the offense produced well for majority of the game as well, but came up short on some series. both sides are coming up short in games and could use more playmakers on both sides. simple we are growing and when all things start clicking look out NFL.

I liike how people claim our offense is Top 5 based on YPG but our defense is Bottom 5 based on PPG.

Compare them equally, YPG or PPG.

Defense doesn't give up that many yards, but points are high because our offense and special teams put them in bad spots.
