Here is a short list of options.

Ronnie Curran i don't believe his with the Titans anymore. Give him a try out.

Kion Lewis or Lawrence Wilson off the practice squad.

Wait till next year and draft one. Here is my long list.

Kevin Keddick /UNC/

Jerry Franklin /Arkansas/

Travis Lewis / Oklahoma/

Or free agency next year. Fact is the williams guys have played well in short term and Curry sjould have been brought in.

Better question is who are some nice LBs to look for in the draft. I'd say it's a position that is tied with CB for second after DT at this point, might even surpass it. I don't expect Connor to stay for pennies and there is NO OLB. Sorry but I think Davis is done.

I wouldn't worry about Hurney and his ability to chose a decent linebacker though. We still need him to get us a DT and for the love of god a WR.

People need to get off the DT is the biggest need in the draft kick....you are very wrong.

In Fua/McClain, we have two promising young DT's that WILL continue to develop. Remember that basically no DT not name Suh does ANYTHING in their rookie season. It takes a year or two to develop. We DO NOT need another young rookie DT next season. Getting Edwards back will go a long way to improving that rotation with Fua/McClain/Fields. If we need anything at DT next season, it is another vet....not another rookie.

CB is somewhat of a ?? right now. Darius Butler and Captain are nice young DB's. Depening on how Hogan plays (1st Rd Grade Talent), we may not be anywhere near as bad in this area as some think.

OLB is THE biggest need in the draft. Davis is DONE. Love the guy, but 3 ACL tears will do any player in. Beason shoudl be back and Anderson is still more than fine on the other side. We need that explosive playmaker on the Outside.

Given the issues with Otah's health, OL has shot up the board of needs for me. I easily but is at 2nd behind OLB....ahead of CB (depending on Hogan) and DT.

I mostly agree with you MadHatter, we should definitely get our next starting OLB in the upper part of the 2nd round. OLB value there is usually pretty good. 1st round could be on a playmaking CB (Claiborne) or if by the grace of God Blackmon is available when we pick we can get a WR to catch more than a pass a game other than Smitty (that could possibly be Lafell if he could get on the field. I hate to mention their names in the same sentence, but this whole "not starting Lafell" business is reminding me too much of the Jarrett fiasco). Or a top prospect OT if one is available. No reaching though (meaning no OLBs in the upper half of the first round).

My only real disagreement is the optimism for our DTs. They COULD have a huge jump next year, and you're right, DT is usually a slow developing position. But just like Jimmy last year, neither has really shown much to be optimistic about. McClain has shown flashes of penetrating ability, but neither has looked good against the run. I also think our best bet is to hope for a good FA DT next year. Wish we had gone after Mebane or Cofield, but that ship has sailed. The only thing I know for sure is that I have confidence in Rivera to fix this defense with an offseason devoted to it like they did with the offense this past offseason.

I'd like to remind you guys that we lost our first games with the best LB corps in the league. When you have DTs who simply can not eat blockers, then the offense is going to have hat on hat and there will be nobody to tackle, regardless of how good the LBs are.

Fua and Mcclain have shown absolutely nothing to me to indicate they will do anything other than suck next year, too.

Who thinks that perhaps if we could sign a linebacker and a strong safety with coverage skills who we could put him at one of the linebackers spots in our nickel. Our linebackers are getting abused in coverage and they suck against the run anyway. Why not give up 20 lbs for coverage in our nickel scheme. I wouldn't do it on clearly running downs but on 3rd and 10 like Sunday why not get our faster coverage guys in there. We would be essentially going with a dime package but using 3 safeties instead of 2.

Just a crazy thought.

sean spence would actually fit the credentials you're describing perfectly, if you'd want to apply that concept after this season

miami lbs just keep getting lighter and lighter
