The FA OLB pool isn't very strong at the moment. The only LBs even marginally worth looking at are still available because of injuries.

At OLB there's Pisa Tinoisamoa, who was pretty good back in 2008 but has been injured off and on since. After him there is nobody worth looking at.

Just sign him and MLB Tatupu and hope something works, there's not a lot of options at this point.

Who thinks that perhaps if we could sign a linebacker and a strong safety with coverage skills who we could put him at one of the linebackers spots in our nickel. Our linebackers are getting abused in coverage and they suck against the run anyway. Why not give up 20 lbs for coverage in our nickel scheme. I wouldn't do it on clearly running downs but on 3rd and 10 like Sunday why not get our faster coverage guys in there. We would be essentially going with a dime package but using 3 safeties instead of 2.

Just a crazy thought.

I don't know if he is still recovering from an injury but Clint Ingram was viewed by Saints fans a a possible starter at SLB for them. He may be worth looking at if healthy.
