NBC Sports Talk anchor: Panthers one of the 5 things he disliked last week

I'm not a Clausen fan by any stretch, but I just think it's funny no one counts his drive against New Orleans last year as one too when he got the team in field goal range at the Super Dome and D. Will loses 10 on a reverse.

You think that Clausen got a raw deal, and was treated unfairly by our fan base? Is that your point?

Williams lost like 4 on a counter. Clausen then lost like 10 on a sack.

at best we where in position for a 53 yard fg attempt.

then Williams lost 4 yards.

then Clausen took a sack

then Clausen had an incompletion.

That simply isn't comparable to what occured this Sunday.

The guy said "I kept waiting for Cam Newton to drive them down for the win, and he never did."

Sadly, Mike Florio had to point out it was Steve Smith's holding "penalty" and Mare's miss that cost them the game, not Cam.

So exactly who are you blaming for the loss? We were in this game and that was a team effort, but when a BS holding call keeps us from scoring a TD and not going for it on 4th and 2 for the win. Cam had a great game and he shouldn't accept blame. We pay this kicker a lot and i mean a lot of money to do one damn thing and it's put the ball between those posts. The guy kicks low trajectory on all kicks for some reason and obviously it hasn't worked. Quit sticking up for Mare, he blew the game plain and simple. It would've been a tie anyways. Actually you wanna blame someone? Coaching staff. Shoulda just went for it and the win. Sorry that was a Fox move.

In the TV chain of command it starts with anchors, then their are analysts, reporters, and in studio guests.

The guy calling the shots are behind the cameras and their strings are being pulled by guys who are the true evil in sports media.

ironically, insofar as what we see as the finished product the intelligence factor is almost always the complete reverse of the pecking order. Anchors are usually quite stupid as far as information goes. Their job is to keep the menagerie rolling. They are facilitators nothing more.

That said and understood, as far as the integrity of the sports news goes, the anchors are aptly named and drag every show down with their lack of knowledge and need for a huge contract and usually two makeup girls.

I'll take Cam over any QB right now.

Even the great, almight Brady, fails when he rush gets to him, so does Brees, so does Manning they don't like getting hit.

Cam can do what they can't, he can run.

He was tentative running Sunday in spots an that's unfortuante.

Once the Panthers have a defense and a special teams, the wins will come.

He is human, he is not perfect, but, his upside if he keeps working is just huge.

If people are happy with Ponder and Dalton, great. Give me Cam any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I'm happy with Cam. Team has done way better then any of us thought they would this season. Many of us said before season that 4-7 wins this season would be a huge improvement over the lack of effort shown on the field this season.

So let that sit in your head while you read what is coming.

After the D forced Vikings 3 and out their first possession in 3rd quarter, the thought was already in my head, "Will the Panthers march down the field and and show they can finish this game?" Notice I did say Panthers and not Cam. Cam deserves some of the blame for not finishing teams but not all. The RB need to fight for that extra yard. The OL needs to keep their blocks for that extra fraction of a section. 17 needs to make that catch. Everyone on the O needs to do just a little more. Same with the D. When they take the field. They need to do just a little more. Keep that RB from getting that extra yard. Staying with your man just a little longer. Getting to that QB just a little faster.

As a team, they play a good 3 quarter game. It is not all Cam's fault but he is not guiltless. He will get better. The team will get better. The team is producing the W/L that we all thought would happen before the season. Obviously the majority of us thought it would be our defense leading our O but that has been flipped for majority of play time.
