Electrical problem

So a couple weeks ago my brother plugged a treadmill into his room. As soon as he did this it cut the electricity off in his room, bathroom, and part of my room.

My dad has been trying to figure it out on his own. He replaced all the wall outlets. Checked for tripped breakers..nothing.

So yesterday everything came back on. So I decide to plug my PC back into a wall outlet that wasn't working before. As soon as it powered up, it all went back out. Hasn't been back on since.

Anyone know what happened or has anything to help?

Really almost sounds like a loose connection somewhere... Turn the breaker off and check for continuity... Also, one of them receptacle testers would probably come in handy. Its got 3 lights on it, usually a red, a yellow & a white, or 2 yellows and a white... That will let you know if any of the wiring isnt correct. A non-contact voltage tester will be useful also, about $17 at HomeDepot...

Is the bathroom GFI in front of the other outlets?

Did it happen when he plugged in the treadmill or when he turned the treadmill on?

ground fault circuit could be faulted. This happens a lot when it rains.

Happened to me a couple months back. Troubleshot for days before seeing that little fuging button on the outlet... reset it and all was fine. Worst part was that the beer fridge defrosted all over the garage :(

Had a similar problem, turns out the breaker was weak in the panel (wasn't tripped either), bought a new breaker switch and swapped it out, worked fine.

In your case it could be as others have said, the GFCI (ground fault) outlet in bathroom.
