Pilares or Goodson on KR?

I miss Mark Jones
old, easily injured, antiquated, and unemployed for a good reason.

taking away the wedge made him obsolete. didn't have near the explosiveness, speed, or evasiveness needed to be competitive after the rule changes and that was before his knees went bad.

that boat sailed a long time ago. i'm surprised people still look for it.

i don't care which this year. i just don't get the feeling that either are the answer. we should look elsewhere after the season for PR and KR.

blocking and STs coaching needs to be a lot better for whoever, but i am far from believing that either one are "the one".

I would like to give Edwards a shot as KR. I mean many teams us the same guy for both. We have also been saying that Edwards doesnt have any place to run on Punts. This will give us a final chance to see if he actually can be a player for us

There were 2 kicks on Sunday where he had plenty of space but still made nothing happen. He's just plain slow out there and he has no vision.

Look at the good returners of the league and they don't always have perfect lanes with great blocking, they are often out there making things happen on their own.

I am in between I think alot of us are remembering how Goodson performed on KR's last season. Goodson much like Pilares hadn't done much in the return game, to me it's just the fact that we're always returning from 5-8 yards deep most of the time, which obviously gives the coverage team an advantage.

If it were like last year I think Pilares could show us production as good or better than Goonson, we all caught a sneak peek at his burst during the pre-season on that screen pass.

Edwards looked terrible again though...

Yes, terrible...

What's terrible is seeing 3 opposing players 5 yards from him every single time he receives a punt. He's caught every punt he's attempted to field so far and made a few nice returns. "Terrible" is a little strong. Draft position bites him again in the eyes of the fans.

i'm probably going to flamed for this for a variety of reasons, but why not see if deangelo can do something back there? he returned kciks at memphis. he set a state record in the 100m in high school. we know how quick he can be getting to the edges and how elusive he can be. you're paying the man a hefty sum. could be a spark. *shrug*
