I never thought of Shockey as a "Ruin the locker room" type of guy, more as a "Potential to get into a fight and cost your team 15 yards then get ejected" type.

He's really the Steve Smith of TEs.

The thing I love most about Shockey besides his pass catching ability is that he is a great teammate. You know he is always gonna stick up for you. I hated him when he was a Saint but now that he is here I love him. I have made this comparison before but he is a Noah-like player. You hate him when he is not on your team but love him if he is a teammate of yours.

I compare players like that to Pierzynski on the Sox. Fans love him there, but when he was on the Twins? Straight hatred.

I think just about everyone who isn't already locked into the Panthers long term is definitely going to want to stay atleast one more year, including Shockey. They're going to want to see this thing through and I think everyone knows next year is definitely "our year." We're so close this season, but not quite there yet. But next year we're gonna be scary. I know Shockey is going to want to still be a part of what we're building here next year.

He could be a likely player we franchise.

Def. agree with this. The exact same can be said for Smitty too. We love the dude, but I'm 100% sure everyone on the board would hate him if he was on another squad. Gotta love having players like Shock and Smitty. I just wish they were both 25 instead of early 30's.
