Pulled this from ESPN.COM:

From Elias: Another week, another milestone for Cam Newton, who passed for 290 yards and three touchdowns in the Panthers' 24-21 loss to the Vikings. Newton's total of 1,381 passing yards in October is the highest in NFL history by a rookie in one calendar month. The previous record was 1,230 yards by Matthew Stafford in November 2009. The three most recent record-holders prior to Stafford were Peyton Manning, Jake Plummer and Dan Marino.

For the record:

Most passing yards/season - Rookie - 3,739 Peyton Manning 1998

Most passing yards/season -all time - 5,084 Dan Marino 1984

So Cam (should) break the rookie record. He could come close to all time. Cam he?? :D

I def see him breaking the rookie record. he will need a couple more 400+ to reach Marino's. Im sure he will break Marino during his career though :-)

If Cam ever has the most passing yards in a season, he probably will be breaking someone else record. So far that record looks like it is going down by someone else this year.
