i'm waiting a little while to do that. of course i've managed to stay out of the pissing contest pretty well without putting him on ignore.

So what have we learned after 200 plus posts.

1. Cam Newton 8 games into his rookie campaign is not playing yet like a seasoned veteran and has room to improve. Shocking.

2. The offense has cost us a number of 4th quarter drives with penalties and poor execution.

3. We tend to get more conservative when we are tied or have a lead.

4. The defense has often given us poor field position and has surrendered leads late in the game which we have struggled to overcome.

So why will this go on for another 100 posts??? Because instead of seeking agreement on the big issues, we will try and nitpick the inconsequential stuff in an attempt to get the last word and win an argument that has gone from unimportant to now ridiculous.

And if only everyone agreed on the first 3, which they don't, and understood a couple of more, and you stopped making logically broken and just plain false statements like number 4, it would be great. They believe that me asking or expecting Cam to do better in his 28th ranked interception category, 24th ranked sack category, 60.0 comeback winning or winning drive QB rating in our 6 losses, 47% completion percentage, only 7% efficiency in our comeback winning or winning drives(1 out of 14) means that I am asking for perfection.

To me asking or expecting a QB such as Cam to be better than nearly last or absolutely atrocious, which is what those are, seems like a pretty reasonable request. To them, somehow this = asking for perfection.

I don't need to compare a rookie QB to an elite QB to show that he has a flaw. I have a much better understanding why I can just make the statements I did above without making any comparison whatsoever and realize that those mean he has a lot of flaws.

Other people are comparing Cam including most of the people that posted in this tread, Merril Hodge, are comparing Cam to elite QB's and saying he's top 5. I disagree. Because without even comparing him, those statistics I posted tell me he cant possibly be top 5, or be seen as such,.

Those stats mean nothing, they are incredibly nitpicky and ignore everything good he's done.

Cam having room to grow doesn't mean he's the problem with the team. In fact he and Steve Smith are the stars of the team this year by a wide margin.

The D is ranked nearly last in all statistical categories and in advanced metrics, that's not cam's fault no matter how much you try to pin it on him. Other teams have as many turnovers as Cam but don't have defenses that let them down so much.

all anyone is saying is that it just isn't the big deal that you are making it out to be.

he's a freaking rookie and this is his starting point. to think that he isn't going to improve after his rookie year is just not thinking. to not be massively impressed with what he's been able to do is being very narrow minded. this is his starting point. he isn't anywhere near a finished product. his starting point overall is incredible.

you are making a mountain out of a molehill and that is why everyone is essentially laughing at you. the fact that you are obsessing over it and putting so much energy into defending your opinion is making people laugh harder at you.

just move along. no one thinks he is a finished product and doesn't have room to grow. it's just you that is looking at what people are saying and interpreting it that way. you can't get your head out of this obsession to be right and win on the internet enough to see that. you won't win. it's all a matter of opinion. you can rig stats to say whatever you want. you can look at whatever stats you want to back up whatever argument you want to make, but the end result is all you are doing is trying to show that your opinion is better than everyone else's. no one is going to buy it.

if you keep on with it, then you deserve what ever pointing and laughing is heading your way...not that you should care one way or the other because it's just the internet, but by that same token you shouldn't be obsessed with "winning" on the internet either. just call it a draw (agree to disagree) and move on to something else that doesn't make you look so anal.

The fact that people like Pantherball are having to sink this low to try and disparage Cam's accomplishments proves that people like him are grasping at straws and we are very lucky to have Cam because people have to try this hard and say things completely silly to try and make a failing point to attempt to diminish the greatest QB rookie campaign possibly in history.
