Nothing is wrong with saying Ponder looked good. I said before the draft I thought he and Dalton would be steals - I didn't know a team would take Ponder as early as they did, but I felt he could be a really good starter in the NFL. So far, he's looked the part.

The problem is the baiting of the Panthers fanbase by trolls who have never wanted to give Cam his due or refuse to acknowledge how wrong they've been about him... Yet, "Ponder looked good" threads pop up from these types?

Stop being such a baby and go read my comments about Cam lately. Cam has been fine. Exceeded all expectations. He deserves a ton of credit, but to deflect all blame is dumb. He's a rookie, sure. He's made exciting plays, sure. He's also made mistakes. IT'S OKAY TO ACKNOWLEDGE THEM, IT DOES NOT DEFINE HIM.

I only have a problem when people heap all the praise on Cam and place all the blame elsewhere. Chud deserves some credit, Smith, Olsen, Shockey, the line, etc. Cam plays in an extremely friendly offense with some of the best weapons in football yet they act like he's out there 1 on 11 and dominating.

This is a Christian Ponder thread. Then it turned into a future of the Panthers thread. You may agree or disagree about my thoughts on the future but it's not a knock on Cam in any way just an observation based on the past in similar situations.

If you can't handle a little bit of the other side, the internet probably isn't for you. If you NEED everyone to praise Cam 100% of the time and deflect all blame or criticisms, the internet probably isn't for you.

If you want to say Cam is having a great statistical year, I'd agree.

If you want to say that Cam and Dalton are having very impressive rookie seasons, I'd agree.

If you want to discredit what Dalton is doing because he's supposedly on a better team, I'd disagree unless you discredit what Cam does because he plays in a superior offensive scheme with superior weapons.

I hate the double standard. Cam is a bright spot. Dalton is a bright spot. Ponder is a bright spot.

All are good and bad.

Cam is not the best player in football as some have said. He's not the only reason for the turnaround. Clausen isn't the measuring stick for successful NFL QBs.

Im a panther fan foremost and never became a fan of a football team because of one player. Im excited for cam but I've told you I need to see wins after this year for me to root for him.

The problem is, this guy is an admitted fan of another team, spent most of his time here in "Lovely Ladies," "The Lounge," and "Tinderbox" until we drafted Cam, and then began trolling the sh*t out of his threads even when he had no ground to stand on.

All his posts trash our QB - THE QB OF OUR FRANCHISE.

Yet, Ponder has an average performance in a game and won by default because he drove down in the 4th and his kicker made a FG, whereas we got called for a BS penalty and our kicker missed... And this is impressive to him.

So impressive that, despite anything Cam has done, it hasn't warranted its own "positive" thread... But Ponder does?

I don't need to explain it. I'm sure if he likes Ponder enough he'll be a member over at Vikingloveboat.com once he's banned from here... kind of like he joined here after Skins fans got tired of him... Most likely after he melted down over McNabb becoming the starter there after he hoped Colt Brennan would win out.

Ponder is a good QB, watched him play at FL State a ton (wife is a Noles fan) and I expected him to be a good pro. Glad to see he is doing well and wish him the best.

That's a good viewpoint to have, and where we disagreed was there. I don't think he needs to win games. As long as he's not Jimmy Clausen bad, he'll be our QB. He'll be very popular here and around the league coupled with JRs odd desire to keep every single one of his players, no matter what.
