You damn right I am. Two back to back losing seasons and we are NO closer to being sure of having found us a winning QB or a winning head coach. Why are YOU not?

What was all this poo for? And all of our other pics? Clausen, AE, Pillares, Keloah....a waste.

But ONE right move by an organization, just a simple HC for a BETTER one....and look what happens to the 49'ers. That is all we needed too you know. A better HC first. Or maybe simply just a different one because things were just getting old with Fox. You don't build a team around a QB. You build a team around a freaking coach. He's the big dog, not the QB.

Even if you get lucky and hit a diamond, like Manning, look what happens when they go down. It's bad business. Look at what the Patriots are doing. Why do we not subscribe to a winning model?

They put Matt Cassel in there and went 11-5. Sorry I was never on board with the rebuilding train. Not the Rivera train. And I was never on board with going for a QB. And I still have no faith in our coach. So far he seems like a pushover without a real plan. I don't know what his philosophy is for this team. At least I knew what Fox's was. At least he had a philosophy. One I didn't like but he at least believes in it.

Look at Miami...how many years have they been sucking and tried this and then just ended up sucking again. Raiders? Browns? 49'ers? The Lions? Rams? Right back to poo. Lions will probably be there again soon enough.

I am much more scared of us turning into one of those teams. That's what scares me. That this re-building will last 5 years. And somehow this fan base bought into this lie that it's some sort of requirement!

you do realize that having both dalton and AJ wouldn't change the defense or our special teams on our team in the slightest, meaning that we would still be losing these games, and we would be losing them by A LOT more because dalton can't do half the crap cam does.

you realize this right? with your plan we have another craptastic offense with a game manager for a QB instead of a playmaker...

I'm sorry I also don't believe in blaming the defense for losing 6 games by 7 points or less in the 4th quarter when the offense has the ball.

But if we did believe in veterans, we wouldn't be looking to win with a bunch of rookies that we missed on dating back to 2010. We could have drafted ST. We could have drafted a number 2 receiver. We could have drafted another DE and linebackers.

We have wasted 3 high picks on QB's in two years and we are not ONE step closer to winning. Maybe we get lucky with Cam. But it's still costing us far too much.

We have a rookie QB who is already better than any QB we've ever had in our franchise. Beurlein, Delhomme, Collins, Peete, etc. Winning takes time.

Keloah and Pilares are the same person.

I guess that's why Gruden couldn't get to the Super Bowl with the Raiders, and the season he left, a new guy got the Super Bowl with the same QB, right? Because the Head Coach is more important that a franchise QB?

They put Matt Cassel in there and went 11-5.

Didn't make the playoffs.

When did Miami draft a QB #1 overall?

I'm sorry that you jumped on the bandwagon during the '08 playoff run, and you haven't been pleased with the results that followed. But, some of us have been here since the beginning, have been fans since day one. We know that building a team, building a legacy, takes years.

How long did it take Cowher to win a Super Bowl in Pittsburgh? What about the Colts? How about the Patriots? It's not something that happens instantly, no matter how many bandwagon fans there are.

I'm sorry that you have been around for so long and still don't know jack poo about #1 pick QBs and the chances of being elite or Superbowl champions. Please stop being such a homer. Jake got us to a freaking Superbowl. Hint: he was undrafted.

Do you think Jake Delhomme is better than Cam?

Or do you think the Panthers team Jake played on is better than this team?

    • As we look at these prospects, I can never quite grasp which “edge” projects as a 4-3 end and which projects as a 3-4 olb. Is there even a distinction anymore? I always think of the smaller Von Millers and Micah Parsons as the 3-4 OLB types and I’m thinking someone like Peppers as the 4-3 end but then I guess Peppers played OLB in GB.  It also seems like the OLBs end up walking up to the line half of the time.  Anyone have any tips on discerning the difference, especially in Evero’s defense?
    • Poor kid. Here's hoping he someday gets a chance. In the meantime, someone else will be getting an opportunity and hopefully they can make the most of it.
    • This is it. The Panthers don't have the draft picks or salary cap to approach the offseason position-by-position. That's for teams much further along. They'll have to address "mission areas" rather than individuals, and they'll need to be creative rather than taking a linear approach. I'd add "improve the pass rush: as 1B with "improving the run defense" as 1A. Trying to upgrade every weak position is just not feasible. It'll take 2 or 3 great drafts. For instance, a guy like Luvu that can play the run and rush the QB would be huge in both areas. A fix? No. But a definite improvement. We're focused on a WR1, when a guy like CMC would provide a playmaking option that defenses will have to account for in the passing and running game. And I think an explosive playmaker is more important than adding another guy that can catch the ball in traffic. We have that in spades. Can't solve this riddle in one offseason without taking away from current areas of strength. It's a puzzle that won't be easy to solve. And they'll need to be future focused while being current competent.  My opinions/approach: I'm thinking the focus should be on defensive players that are good at both the run and pass pressure rather than specialists. A stout run-stopping OLB that can also pressure the QB is the better option for the Panthers right now, rather than a sack specialist. We had a pure pass rusher with Burns. Teams just ran the ball at him and took him out of games. A DT that can consistently get in the backfield and disrupt plays rather than a run stuffing NT is probably a better option for the Panthers right now too - Mason Graham. That addresses both the pass and run. Neither of these players would have great numbers, but they'd improve the defense and force offenses to scheme rather than just impose their will. That's when we'll see what Evero is really about. A later round speed WR that forces defenses to keep a safety over the top would really open up the offense - a Ted Ginn Jr type. Maybe a true pass receiving RB that can make guys miss in the open field. These guys aren't usually conventional early round draft picks but they'll improve the team in mission areas rather than focus areas.
