Just tell the truth about Jake...you don't love him

top dawg

I just want Jake to lift some weights or get on some roids to get that arm stronger. He throws behind WR's way too much. It would be nice if he could lead our WR's off and I'm sure Smith would appreciate it.

I know everyone loves to pile on and point at the misses, but Delhomme also catches Smith, etc. in stride more times than he doesn't. His misses call for a spectacular recovery from SS, que the highlight film. We just like to concentrate on the negative, don't we?...

Lets not pretend Jake has a good arm. Yea he can zip it sometimes, but he is usually throwing high or behind WRs.

I've never said that he was a top 5 QB in the league, far from it. I've said that he's an average QB in the league and that is what he is. In this system, that's more than enough. CarPanFan showed statistics that he might be a top 3 QB. I don't go with that, but I didn't have too. You went there and I called you on it. You cannot defend yourself, deal with it...

I never said you said he was a top 5 QB. We are talking about his arm, and he as a QB is above average but his arm strength needs work.

You mean his accuracy. His arm straight is very good now after his surgery. He is very spotty on his accuracy though but the good thing is a QB coach can work on that but power is just god given.

Pretty damn funny, I remember him Overthrowing the EVER FAST Steve Smith this season on some long bombs.

Either Smith is getting slower, or Jake has more sling....

Its inaccuracy. He's thrown behind Moose several times, does that mean Moose is faster than Smith? He overthrew a wide open Barnidge at Oak, he would have had a TD.

I don't give a flying flip whether a QB can throw it 70 yards or 40....what I want in a QB is accuracy and smart decision making...something our current QB has struggled with throughout his career.

Hence why he has a 59.7 completion percentage, a QB rating of 85.1 and 115 TDs to 76 INT....

Are we really going to debate whether or not Jake Delhomme is an accurate QB???

Do those statistics you wrote not scream average to you??

I like Jake, I love the leadership he brings to our team, but when it come to talent at the QB spot this team needs to be looking elsewhere. He's mediocre, who gets a ton of credit for game winning drives where Steve Smith bails him out.

Heck, I can think of three games off the top of my head just from last year, where Smith made the play on a chuck and pray from delhomme.

1. Arizona part one (not really a bad throw by jake, as much as it was a great play by smith)

2. Green Bay

3. New orleans part two

To all those defending jake left and right, I would like to see you rank the NFL QB's if you wouldn't mind taking the time. I want to get a good picture at where you feel Jake ranks among the other 31 starting QB's in the league.

Is he in the top fifteen, fifteen to twenty, or lower. I'm curious.

Here's how I see it objectively.

Top ten: In no particular order.

Manning, Brady, Rivers, Cutler, Roethlisburger, Brees, Warner, Mcnabb, Palmer, Rodgers.

10-15

E. Manning, Hasselbeck, Rodgers, Schaub, Ryan

15-25

Flacco, Romo, Pennington, Delhomme, Garcia, Cassel, Garrard

I get him 15 at best....just curious what others come up with

    • Here comes Frankw and his pathetic little persecution complex to claim I have a personal vendetta against one of the worst performing coaches in the league if anything I should love Canales because he’s walking proof that through the lord all things AREN'T possible.  This kind of performance is exactly what you’d expect from someone who filled the building with misunderstood Bible quotes about iron forging iron and inspired speeches about how he apologized for his infidelity by buying his wife a book deal.  once more into the breech dear friends, just like when I paid a stripper for an above the pants hand job in Orlando.
    • As dumb as it probably sounds, we should have won that game.  Defense was bad but Bryce should have been better.  Pass rush isn't a good enough excuse.
    • You and I both know there isn't a coach we could or can still hire that can "fix" Bryce Young. Even at mighty Alabama with one of the best modern coaches in college football history Mac Jones was still a better QB than Bryce Young. Mac Jones.... We already know how you feel about Canales on a personal level so in that regard you wanting him fired is not news. You don't have to disguise it behind this shroud of rabble about not fixing Bryce Young. To his credit he somehow had us competive against the Chiefs and the Eagles on the road with #9. But no coaching staff can overcome their starting QB turning the ball over 4 times. We definitely have developed some of our younger offensive pieces. And as far as Evero goes he has earned criticism and if he's fired so be it but in his defense many of us said in the offseason this defensive roster was a disaster waiting to happen given the resources we spent on the offense while neglecting the defense. That was Dan Morgan's plan. He swung too hard toward offense to salvage the Bryce Young trade. That's on him. We can scream about XL all we want but at least he's actually been on the field for the most part. The Brooks pick was a luxury pick at the time and now it is a Hurney level blunder. Dan Morgan has gotten a lot of early praise here when in reality he's unequivocally deserving of significant criticism. But if you say that some people get up in arms because he's a former Panther. Big whoop. He has just as much to prove this upcoming season as Canales. That's why to me in my own personal opinion I say one more season and then if it's more of the same say goodbye to both.
