Notes from Cam

What I find so funny when I listen to the talking heads is, no one is saying how Andy or Ponder has to carry their team. Instead u hear that they will do better when they get better receivers around them. Or how fortunate they are with their receivers. But with Cam, the talking heads just sit there and marvel at how great he has been. No mentioning of how much the Panthers as a team need to step up and help him. Instead u keep hearing how much CAM is rejuvenating the older receivers careers.

Cam can say all the politically correct things but when it all boils down to it, this team needs to stop relying on their QB alone and so do many of u fans.

There is no way in hell Luck would have survived with this team if he had gotten drafted. No way in hell. He seems way to spoilt to be part of a team that needs a tough as nail rookie QB.

tbqh I have heard on various pregame shows etc that our defense and special teams need to step up. Since I don't hear them say "by putting Cam Newton in there so he can do it himself!!!"

Virtually nobody thinks Cam is losing us games, I think EVERYONE thinks that the entire team needs to rise up and play better.

    • Apparently it did no good. Getting spanked by the Wizards…again!
    • I'd be looking at mid to late round QBs every single draft simply because the potential ROI is so high. Hell, even if I have an entrenched starter and backup that wouldn't change the equation. Hit on one and I'd trade my entrenched backup to a desperate team and now I have a quality backup in a rookie contract to protect cap space and a potential asset to trade down the road or hell even develop into a starter if my starter is aging or has a career detailing injury or maybe the young guy simply proves to be better at some point. Once you get the the 4th or 5th round you're basically throwing darts at the board hoping to hit on something at that point. Most of those guys will prove to not be long for the league anyway.  I'm not saying reach on a guy just because he's a QB but if I have similarly rated prospects on the board and we're talking about a FB, a blocking TE, and a  OG with limited upside, well that's a no brainer to me. Roll the dice on the QB.
    • Demani Richardson has played nearly 25% of the defense snaps this season with several starts playing in 12 games.
