Mare Bitching Thread

I defended him before and was justified ... I will not defend him today.

Agreed. He definitely screwed the pooch today. His was not the only mistake, it was not even the biggest mistake (the two fumbles that led to Minnesota td's hold that honor), but it was definitely the most memorable mistake because of when it happened.

If you're just pissed off all the time, why even bother with the Panthers?

No team should blow it, but poo happens. One play did cause us to miss OT, so get over it.

And one play caused you to miss a winning Touchdown.

Steve Smith's holding penalty two plays earlier that negated a Touchdown, or is your brain incapable of understanding that a game is multiple plays not just one?

Which is more important? The missed FG or the holding penalty that eliminated a chance to win the game outright? WHICH?

Why is that one "mistake" any more important than the two that GAVE THE VIKINGS 14 POINTS? Because it's the last one and the one that's all over ESPN?

Because this fan base has the Romo/Cowboys syndrome. As long as Romo looked good on the field, looked good in the media and banging Jessica Simpson....everyone overlooked him folding under pressure, losing late in the game, fumbling the ball or throwing pics when it mattered most.

The ironic part? Cam even knows it as mav posted earlier. He knows it's on him to get those points when we're down by 7 or less late in the game for the win.

Fans still don't. And I can understand the fear. The implications are pretty terrifying but like I always said, problems don't get fixed by ignoring them. The longer you let them go unaddressed ....the worse they get.

Who's arguing about importance?

Would have Mare's kick tied the game and probably sent it to OT? Yes. Did he miss it? Yes.

One play can change an entire game, or career for that matter.

You sir should be banned for comparing Panthers fans to Cowboys fans. I would rather be called a retard than to be compared to that riff raff.

bottom line, Mare shanked the FG that would have given us a chance to win.

Bottom line: Mare missed the FG that would have given the Panthers a chance to win (or lose) IN OVERTIME.

Bottom line: Steve Smith's holding penalty wiped out a 1st and Goal that would have given the Panthers a chance to win with a touchdown IN REGULATION (or lose with a turnover).

Bottom line: The Vikings scored 14 POINTS OFF OF TURNOVERS, and did very little offensively without the Panthers' offense gifting them excellent field position off of turnovers. Take those 14 points away, and the Vikings play like they did every other drive that wasn't after a turnover, and Mare doesn't even need to kick a field goal...

...Bottom line.

Stop acting like one then. None of you all were like this when Jake, Matt or Clausen fuged up. What have you all been drinking?

We were all able to point to big screw ups like turnovers, offensive meltdowns and interceptions last year and see it as a pretty bad deal.

All of a sudden it's off limits?

Who's arguing importance? You are, when you elevate one BAD play above other BAD plays as if that one BAD play is more important than the other BAD plays, duh.

Apparently, you missed the sarcasm. Calm down.
