It's a two part interview that addresses an aspect of Cam I feel doesn't get enough attention: Cam is one hell of a smart cookie. His ability to comprehend and execute football concepts is absolutely incredible, and his work ethic is evident in the extreme transformation he has made in eight months. You realize most quarterbacks NEVER make the kind of leaps he's making on a weekly basis?

I believe Weinke did help Cam but not as mush as Shula or Chud, but he was part of his development nonetheless.

That's definitely true as well, and you can throw Warren Moon in there too.

But you know who helped Cam the most? Cam.

When you imagine the amount of accolades and potential for him to feel he had "arrived" as an athlete by winning the Heisman, going #1, throwing for hundreds of yards, etc. etc., it is extraordinarily refreshing to see that none of that really seems to register with him. He wants to succeed for himself, and that means being the best and winning. Nothing else. His willingness to accept coaching and tutelage from all of these people shows more to me than anything else that Cam isn't playing around. He has his sights set above everyone else and will not accept anything less.

Unrelated... But I had a dream that Cam was our QB on my flag football team (Okaloosa County, FL), He was supercool and did not refuse one autograph for the kids in attendance. <--- I know, kind of gay but I still shared it. Me and my buddies were standing there talking about how great of a guy He was. Oddly enough my dream skipped to me cutting my grass, and my wife complaining about the trash not being taken out before Cam even threw a pass in the other segment of my dream.

My wife even harassed me in my dreams... Lol

This is right on the money. Carolina fans have always wanted to blame the QB coaches for every failed QB who has played here, but when all is said and done, it's the player himself who has to have the talent and be willing put in the work. You can have the best coaches in the world, but some guys just plain can't do it.
