What was there to say.

We lost, uh by a lot this week. And uh, we plan to lose by less next week.

In 08 there was a lot to talk about, but it was still always fox speak, and the last couple minutes they literally just did small talk. Hows the fam, your golf game, and other BS. It was with Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwan.

Cool thing is that Rivera was on the Drive show (FNZ afternoons) just yesterday, so he's completely accessible, and you can tell he's not hiding anything, or scared to death of saying something that could be twisted or misconstrued.

Fox would give nothing, and that's likely why he wasn't on much - you weren't going to get anything from him, so why bother. Better to just listen to fans bitch over the phone.

From what I've read, Andy Reid is forthcoming like that, though there was word a while back that he might change because some reporter pissed him off.

I understand why teams are secretive about some things, but I like that Rivera doesn't act like this I international espionage and national security.

Also love that there's no longer a gag rule on coordinators.

Someone who's lived in this area way longer than I have tell me this. Did Fox - or any of the prior coaches for that matter - ever get on local sports radio much?

yes, early in his tenure

I don't know what you mean by "much"...but he did do it.

Panthers CB Darius Butler remains in Fla., where his newborn daughter had heart surgery Thurs. Butler is questionable. If he doesn't play...

R.J. Stanford will be the Panthers' third corner, per Ron Rivera. Panthers could be thin in secondary: S Jordan Pugh (head) is doubtful.

Pretty sure Fox didn't, or not much anyway. Hurney did a little in the past, during the Fox era. Siefert - never. Can't remember if Capers did.

Its cool that Rivera does that.

On Monday nights at the stadium for Panthers Talk, Fox always called in (at least the past 3 years) but Rivera is there in person each week.
