Cam Newton Erases All Doubt

Refusing to trade JJ Hickson for Amare Stoudemire then ultimately trading him the next year for Caspi in Sac tells me all I need to know about how good the Cavs front office is. Hell, drafting Tyree #1 overall says a lot too. LOL.

Yeah, they are pretty bad. "Wait we can give up Hickson and Ilguaskis for a month and get Amare, or just Ilguaskis and get Jamison? Well you obviously do the Jamison deal! He's about the same as Amare, right?"

Great moments in terrible trade decisions.

hard to compare because this is less likely in the NFL because one player can't make a team, even though he has had a huge impact on the panthers...Also, his personality is not like Lebron's. His work ethic, passion and the willingness to be great is nothing like Lebron.

I would normally agree with this 100%, but the Colts are making a good argument to break this rule, ha

there's also a mel kiper insider article that is headlined that "newton is still a risk"..have to wonder what that's all about lol.

He doesn't say "is"

I can't read the article but I read the preview, seems like he's saying that Newton was a risky pick but that it paid off.

Last November, when he first landed on the Big Board after just eight D-I games and I was told to explain why, I wrote, "There isn't one aspect to Newton's remarkable physical skill set that I would call a negative."

But that doesn't mean Newton wasn't a massive risk for Carolina. In fact, because the Panthers drafted him No. 1, he was one of the biggest risks in draft history.

I dont know why people on this board act like Im the only person in the world who likes LeBron. Dude makes 50 mill a year in endorsement money, but apparently King Taharqa is the only person who likes him. You guys need to cut off ESPN sometime. LeBron has heart, he's just so dominant and great at what he does everything he does is magnified. So when he loses, its magnified. He's the only NBA player to lead his team to a Finals in his first year with them and be deemed a failure for it. Nobody's held to a higher standard of greatness than LeBron, and thats what I'd like for Cameron.

It isn't his team. It's Wades team he was a punk who knows he can't be truly great so he joined up with someone better.

Well the thread title is wrong, wherever that may originate from. He still has to prove he can win 4th quarter comebacks from behind and do it in a consistent fashion. So far it's been his achilles heel, and that's one you definitely don't want as a QB as your achilles heel.

Forget Lebron, I don't want him to Romo the Panthers. Gotta handle that pressure at the end, overcome those emotions, quiet the inner voice and find that zone and zen factor. Without that you are not a complete QB.

We still have The Saints, Bucs, Falcons, Texans and Lions, so there's a good chance this will be tested quite a few more times this season. Vikings, Indy and Titans are the only games left where I can be confident about being able to play and finish with a lead. The rest...they're going to be close games by 7 or less, that will come down to the final drives of the 4th quarter.

PS: Yes I know the Jaguars game and it's not enough. That game's going to be an asterisk on this year's schedule.
