Fix the D and we're set. Get a top OLB and FS, with the return of Edwards and Beason and DT's with a year under their belt.

ST is a bigger overall concern for me.

I don't know about Edwards, a torn tricep is really hard to come back from especially at his age and at his position.

This and the fact that our Run D is at the bottom leads me to think we will draft a DT with our 1st pick.

But if Blackmon is still on the board...ehh I could be wrong

oh gettis is easily the best deep ball threat on this team. i'm not sure if he's the actual fastest in say 40 time, but in terms of game speed hands down. his sprinting skills from college (he was a sprinter at baylor before he played football) are very apparent in the way he runs and cuts. more than anything you can see this in how fast and fluidly he breaks off when the ball snaps, a skill obviously developed from breaking off blocks to the gun.

coverage players in football are trained to take short choppy steps (to quickly adjust to the route and to quickly move into a tackling stance) while backpedaling and keeping with receiver cuts, gettis seems to be able to cut almost in full stride and due to his long legs this pretty much immediately gives him a step on any defender in single coverage. his raw speed and long arms make it easy for him to keep a step on a defender at this point.

the scariest part of having gettis running downfield routes is that smith doesn't need to, meaning someone else will be attracting help from that safety over the top. i know i may have overanalyzed this kid but i was really excited seeing him come out of college and even moreso when i saw his production here last year... even with limp dick armed jimmy chuckin it to him. when i saw cams arm i was so confident gettis would tear it up i drafted him in the 13th round of my fantasy draft... of course only one other person in my league knew who he was lol.

Lol! Everybody keep acting like gettis is the second coming of J. Rice. Yeah, he made some plays his rook season, but come on. He could also be a dud. Ive been fooled too many times with, drew Carter, Colbert, and a cast of where are they now receivers. For crying out loud, lets wait and see what we have in three or four yrs, if he is still around.

would rather draft DT than OLB

FS is interesting, not confident in Martin?

Not much confidence in either S, but Martin would round out a very nice CB corps.

We drafted two DT's and have now signed three others. I can't see taking another I'm the first two days. OLB to replace TD and restore our LB corps.

DT's take time to develop whereas a top OLB pick like Zach Brown could start right away and be rather effective. If you want to add a big body at DT we could do that in the fourth round or later.

He was a deep threat with BSP. Now we have one of the best deep throwers in the league. It don't take much to see the future highlights coming for this team. But I see your point.

completely different. kid has a low football iq still and is very raw. his blocking ability is laughable and if you send him over the middle he will get killed. while i cant say for sure i bet his route running isn't the best either. he isn't evasive like rice or smith, his hands are pretty good, but still not on that level.

he is a very capable deep ball receiver (hes already proven this, watch his highlights) who had a qb with a very weak arm last season. he is either going to put up monster numbers or allow smith to put up monster numbers.

Gettis is also a better runner with and without the ball and goes after it like Smith. Natural hands catcher that will fight at the highest point with good hands and downfield speed.

^^^route running????? He is hurt. Right now he is drew Carter until he proves he can run routes.

if we had drew carter we'd have better numbers on offense than we do now. a pure speed threat, no matter how good at everything else, will always give us another option.
