Carolina (-3.5) vs Vikings ...

too high, too low, or just right.

I believe it to be a little too low, and I am not being homeristic.

I just think we will get a lead, and force them to somewhat abandon the run, and force Ponder into mistakes.

I could see the game playing out very similar to the Redskins game.

I am hoping that Rivera/McD make some type of changes to the defense where we can hide Dan Connors lateral quickness. Maybe, scheming out DE's or OLBs to funnel the run back towards the middle where he can clean up and fill gaps. I would also like to see more disguising of safety blitzes, it seemed way to easy for the QB to see the blitz and make the appropriate read.

Sounds right to me. If Minny gets their run game going, and get us off balance, then this could be bad. However, I think Cam can light up Minny's old and slow secondary. They are ranked poorly in pass D, so if we can hold off Jared Allen and give Cam some time to throw, it could be a big win. Minny's run defense is ranked very very high, so I don't think we will be able to run much on them.. hope we don't get one-dimensional though. I think Chud has a tendency to do that if we aren't gaining 5+ ypc.

just right.

Agreed. Peterson + Ponder being mobile and making throws on the run is not something to overlook.

I believe at this point our offense can move the ball on anybody, but the Vikings offense is not awful. I think the defensive approach needs to be similar to the Redskins game.

7-8 guys in the box, man-to-man, 1 safety deep and try to make Ponder beat us. Don't forget, the defense did look better, but until Hightower went out, the run defense was still getting shredded.

I would be willing to bet Peterson gets at least 25 carries himself in this game. If the Panthers can hold him to under 150 yards, I think we have a good shot to win.

I really don't think this defense is good enough not to give up yards, especially on the ground.

It's a good thing we have an offense that can somewhat carry the team.

Panthers are going to cover, call it what you will.

Last week's bet was easy, easy money. Newton is 6-1 ATS the one loss being against Atlanta when if you watched the game it was a play or two from him beating that spread too.

It amounts to Vegas not giving him enough respect, and they're not sure how to do it because there hasn't been a player who does this in decades... the team is not good and that is what Vegas is struggling with, but this player and offense are so dangerous they can play with anyone.

Spread will creep up as week goes on, I expect it around 5 by game time.... the money is going to the Panthers. Soon Vegas will have to start giving us more respect.

In McDermott's scheme I read somewhere that the Mike blitzes about 50-60 of the time. So he is not the one that is supposed to be going laterally to the outsides. The Will and Sam are, and the DEs job is to turn everything back inside and seal the edge. Honestly if they would do their job and be where they were supposed to be, the run defense would be instantly better. Connor is not the problem except when he fails to rush the right gap and lets the middle wide open.
