After 7 games, is Cam already a.....

Actually Rivers has been very bad this year, and this is coming from a huge Rivers fan. I think he's hurt and can't make all the throws he normally does, he took a huge cheap shot in the pats game from someone (Can't remember who, they got fined though) and hasn't played well since.

He still deserves to be top 5 QBs if you're looking at ability and not current season performance.

The only thing I know is that he is the #1 most exciting QB to watch. He gives me tons of hope for the future and has one of the best personalities in the league. He will do a lot for the Carolinas and for the franchise over the years. He will take us to places we have never been and probably wouldn't go if it wasn't for Newton.

I saw an interesting comparison somewhere stating Cam is like Ben Roethlisberger and Randall Cunningham's love child, and I agree! (really hope Ben didn't rape Cunny to conceive)

Cam is Top 5 statistically, but not Top 5 overall (not yet anyways, until he brings us home a Lombardi)

Rivers is all stats dumping balls off on screen plays getting yards in the run game and throwing it up to Gates and all those big receivers. I wouldn't trade Newton for Rivers for even one play.

They run the Air Coryell just like us. He didn't have Jackson for the majority of last season and still put up big numbers.

And putting Freeman and Stafford ahead of him is ridiculous.

I like Big Ben, skill-wise, but he would not be ahead of Cam right now. Ben is good all-around, but Cam appears to be the better passer of the two and he's definitely the better runner IMO... I don't know how the stats shake out, but stats are for losers anyway.

And Cam is ours, so he's #1. /homerism

What I don't understand is how the national media has portrayed a guy like Matt Schaub as being a top 10 QB and close to elite for years and yet he's never even sniffed the playoffs. So if the biggest knock on Cam so far is that he doesn't have the wins... why does a guy like Schaub get any love at all? He's had more than enough seasons under his belt to make the playoffs by now.

I know I'm a homer, but I also know I'm not blind. I've watched a ton of QBs over the years and Cam is simply special. This is only his rookie season he's been beyond spectacular. People thought Matt Ryan's rookie season was good and others similar to that? Hah, they don't even come close. Cam by himself has turned us from a dead end franchise into one of the most exciting teams in the league. We already have more TDs this season than we did all of last year through 16 games. That's all cause of #1.

I was talking to someone about this today.

Elite:

1. Manning

2. Rodgers

3. Brady

4. Brees

1st Tier:

5. The Rapest

6. Vick

7. Rivers

8. Homo

9. Cutler

10. Ryan

11. Cammy Cam

12. Stafford

13. Freeman

etc.

Brees, Manning and Brady are all over 32 and will be gone in a few years.

Killa Cam shall take his place among the elites with in 2-3 years.

Best list in this thread, with one exception....

I like Manning but Manning is not an NFL QB this year, he is a spectator. Keep him off the lists until he is back playing.

Cam is easily in the top half of NFL starting QB's and possibly in the top 10.

Could you honestly tell me based on his first 7 games that you would prefer Romo or Cutler to Cam? I agree it's debatable based on his game experience, but right now, I'd much rather have Cam than all of the QB's on that list minus the first 5. If he keeps playing like he is, he'll move up there too.

    • And we just started playing competitive football. Now look we beat a decent team. We can celebrate winning, it will be ok…
    • It doesn't matter if you give him a new WR1. To do it you have to devoted MORE resources to him. At some point you have to stop or there's nothing left for the defense. Our defense looks like scrubs because that's what we've got because we've spent a shitload on offense. He got a 1st round WR and a shiny new RB in round 2.  Bryce had a couple of good games but we are not competing against the Chiefs or Eagles. They're headed to the playoffs with realistic SB aspirations and we're headed to a top 10 pick. Those teams have competed for an entire season where the Panthers have ummm... They've almost gotten to as many wins as Matt Rhule in a season.  Would you rather have Bryce or Lamar? Because we've spent more on Bryce and to build around him than what it would have cost to trade for Lamar.  This team can't get better when it's having to devote everything to making it possible for our #1 QB god to play average NFL football.  I may end up being wrong and Bryce may become the GOAT. But one thing you won't see me doing is flip flopping on where I stand every couple of weeks because he has good or bad games. I think Bryce is our version of Daniel Jones and I think we're going to fug ourselves pretending he's Pat Mahomes.
