I know we have seen our O-line backups walk, Peppers is holding our $$$ hostage, and we still need to sign some DL help.

But This offseason is HUGE.

Right now Fox is working with 1/2 a new coaching staff. While some folks believe that Fox Micro-manages his defense, some believe the opposite.

Even if Fox ensures a conservative approach, the new guys will place their stamp on the players. They will look different, act different, and we will be a different team.

Lets hope for the good!

Well-- we have the DLine Help...

+ a whole bunch of UDFA's signed.

I suspect we will try and find a couple "post draft" cut/FA's to see if they fit, but we are about set.

Now the guys need to work out and get ready for the season!

Coaching personalities can have a huge impact on players and teams. Fiery aggressive defensive coordinators for example adopt schemes and strategies which match their personalities which they stamp on a team.

And you are wrong about doing being more important than who we are. What we are thinking, what we believe shape how we act not the other way around.

You are who you decide that you are, especially when you act accordingly.

Case in Point. Del Rio vs Trgovac. Jack Del Rio did more with less. He had less talent yet we have a good defense. Jack had our defense being feared. That defense he had, had us all over the place. Being aggressive and carrying our offense under Rodney Peete to a 7-9 record. Had we had Jack Del Rio in 03-08. I believe we would have won at minimum 1 Super Bowl.

Trgovac was MR. Bend don't break. He was predictable and easy to game plan against. Our top ranking came because he tightened up enough to keep them to a field goal. Which isn't bad but zero points is better.

The main difference between Trgovac and Del Rio was game planning. Trgovac game planned around the offense. Jack Del Rio made the offense game plan against us. Jack made offensive coordinators take time to account for what we MIGHT Do. Offensive Coordinators didn't have that worry with Trgovac, they knew pretty much what we were going to do. It is very clear as why Pep want to leave. Trgo was boring, our defense was boring and Pep was bored.

I think Meeks is gonna bring some excitement back to our defense. From all I have heard he gets the most out of EVERY player. If he can get it out of all of them, including Peppers we are gonna to win alot more than we are gonna lose.

Hit the nail on the head with that one. And even if you have a really good coach sometimes there message becomes stale and its good to change it up and bring some new perspective onto the team. This is why Shanann was fired supposedly. And before you say that was a bad move, if its because of the whole Cutler saga I would say your wrong they made out like bandits. Not only did they get a ton of Picks but they also got a starting caliber QB in Orton.

I think (hope) that the addition of Meeks and the fact that there have been two disgruntle star dl will force Fox and company to alter their approach. I dont expect Fox to abandon his ways completely, but hopefully he will unleash the dogs a bit more.
