Good. Newton and the team can concentrate on practicing.

Fluff stories do nothing to help the team but I suppose it gives a lot of fans the warm fuzzy happy feelings they need.

I honestly do not like The Golden Calf of Bristol. I had respect for him until I saw him on ESPN saying that if you aren't a Christian then you will spend eternity in Hell. I just don't think it is right to force your beliefs on people. Not everyone has the same beliefs. He just needs to keep it to himself. Plus after seeing him play yesterday, he sucks. I don't care what he did in the final 5 minutes. It took them getting lucky on an onside kick to even have a chance. He looked pathetic the first 55 or so minutes. Cam continues to dominate all the time and is getting better every game. And he leaves his religious beliefs off the field and keeps them to himself.

So a big deciding factor in not to like him is because he tells the truth?

No. Today it's been all The Golden Calf of Bristol all the time on every national media outlet there is.

OMG!! What an insult to Cam! The 6 weeks of glowing coverage was inadequate, apparently. Heaven forbid another player get some run (even if undeserved).

nah a big deciding factor is him telling the world I'm going to spend an eternity in hell because I don't think the same way he does. actually I don't really care that he thinks that, but I can see why that may bother some people :p

The The Golden Calf of Bristol coverage has very little to do with what he statistically did on Sunday. The build up, questions and attention that has been building around him since he was drafted has been unmatched, except by Cam Newton. EVERY NFL fan has an opinion on The Golden Calf of Bristol that has been oft-discussed since he entered the draft prior to last season.

I don't know if most of y'all don't understand how the media works or what, but I'm not at all surprised that this story is getting all of the run it's getting... especially considering the comeback the Broncos orchestrated yesterday.

I don't give a *** whether they are over the radar, under it or sitting directly next to it. If you like seing the BS on ESPN and it makes you feel good about yourself.....then knock yourself out and join in making threads incessantly whining about everything and anything.

Meanwhile those with any sense whatsoever realize it doesn't make a damn bit of difference to the team.

If you haven't noticed the threads posted nearly every hour about about so and so being impressed with Newton you are blind.

well, I don't really specialize in bitching about the media on here specifically. I just found it hilarious that you implied media attention would be a distraction for the team (or Cam, it really doesn't matter), especially when Cam's rookie production has been one of the biggest stories in the NFL besides maybe the Lions not losing almost all their games for one season. Bringing sports media attention and spotlight here isn't losing us games. I don't even mind the The Golden Calf of Bristol hype. While I'm not really a fan of how he produces the guy's got moxie and the media is appreciating it.

Lol why express that with a negative connotation? You're not enjoying positive commentaries on a Panthers QB? When was the last fuging time people in the media and competitors in the league showed respect for a Panthers QB?

Nobody in the media watched any of the game besides the final 3 minutes. He looked absolutely terrible, and his throwing motion is the worst of any NFL qb i've ever seen.

You are too kind. Worst QB play I have ever seen (in the NFL). He would throw a ball and it would bounce alone in the middle of the field. The announcers were just beside themselves with ways to politely say "wtf?".

I don't know how they won.
