Falcons say Ndamukong Suh taunted an injured Matt Ryan

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan went down on the Ford Field turf on Sunday after suffering what at first looked like a serious leg injury. Ryan turned out to be fine, and he led the Falcons to a victory over the Lions. But some of Ryan’s teammates were furious at the way the Lions reacted to Ryan’s injury.

Specifically, multiple Falcons players said Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was yukking it up while Ryan was lying on the ground, writhing in pain.

“I had respect for Suh before the game,” Falcons center Todd McClure told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “But when Matt was on the ground, the things he was saying and the trash he was talking was definitely uncalled for. There are certain things you don’t do. [He said], ‘Get the cart’ and several other things that I can’t repeat.”

Falcons receiver Roddy White said Suh was one of a couple of classless Lions.

“I lost a whole lot of respect for 90 [suh] today, and also 92 [Cliff Avril], the [bleep] they were doing when Matt got hurt. That was unacceptable,” White said. “Like 92 was kicking [Ryan’s] feet, saying, ‘Get him off the field.’ We don’t do stuff like that. We don’t rally over guys when they get hurt. It was just inappropriate behavior. I mean, ‘Get the cart’? Are you serious? Come on. When you compete, you never want to see a guy get hurt.”

Suh was called for a personal foul for facemasking Ryan during the game, and he easily could have been called for another personal foul for a post-play shove. He’s certainly not doing anything to change the perception that he’s a dirty player.

I don't like Ryan because he plays for a rival, but Suh and the Lions are fuging dirty.

Suh is a douche. I never liked him. It's the sole reason I supported McCoy over him coming into the draft. It's clear Suh has turned out to be the better NFL player, but at least McCoy has class.

This isn't a tea party, this is the NFL. There is no room for class if you want to be a winner. Suh is a monster who wants to destroy anything that gets in his way- that's why he's so good.

Suh is dirty. Would I want him on my team? With the way our DTs have been I'd be very tempted, but I'd feel bad about it. There absolutely is room for class in the NFL. Bitch ass dirty players need to go resurrect the XFL or something.

I agree with JTG. There's a difference between being aggressive and dirty.

Example: When LT calls for a cart, he's not being a dick.

LT is my favorite player of all time. I started watching football in his prime and he's the standard I've set all my favorite players against. Only Smitty has come close to equaling his intensity and passion for the game.

I don't get how "get the cart" is dirty.. maybe it was the way he said it? It looked like a serious injury.. maybe atl's olineman should stop getting their feelings hurt and actually protect Ryan.

Smitty has never taunted an injured opponent, Suh has a dirty rep and isn't respected at all by a lot of players in the NFL. Yet Smitty is, because of his passion and hard work on the field.
