Why i Support Jake as our QB

we can all argue all day long about how good jake is or how bad jake is. and some of it i agree with and some of it i dont. i agree we need to look for a futre replacement for jake. i agree jake has had some bad games and makes some stupid throws at times. but at the end of the day theres only one thing that realy matters, jake is the leader of this team, the players support him they believe in him and we win games with him as our QB. below is a list of QB win percentages with a min of 10 starts at the start of the 2008 season. he doesnt have the best percentage but as far as active QBs goes hes far from the worse. so IMO we should follow the lead of the players on this team and support jake aslong as hes our QB. the minute hes benched or retired or traded we can all start hating him. but until that day comes its not gonna do anything but tick everybody off even worse. cause like it or not hes our QB

Any argument for a single player based on a TEAMS winning % is completely ignored by me. I'm pretty sure I saw 10 other guys on the field with Jake at all times and I don't recall ever seeing him line up on defense. Maybe I missed something.

I agree, hence my stupid remarks above.

Trying to give QB's a W/L record, is one of the dumbest things in sports.

QB gets most of the credit, and most of the blame, that I can understand, but not total fuging credit for W or a L.

(unless you have 6 turnovers in one game which is too rare of a case to be normal)

i agree that u cant give all the credit to a QB for a win. but at the same time even if he has 6 turnovers you cant blam him completely for a loss...unless u expected him to go and cover larry fitsgerald.

So you're saying that Jake Delhomme is at the same level as David Garrard, Damon Huard, Vince Young, and Brad Johnson?

Cool.

If you're going to make an argument, make one that doesn't put Jake in the same company as non-impressive QBs.

Thats true but the true comparison is the W-L record when Jake is the starter and when he isn't. I believe the Panthers need to upgrade the QB position but you can't say he isn't valuable compared to other QBs.

im not saying that...cause i took the time to look at the number of games they have started compared to the number that jake has started. and saw that he has maintained a very good winning percentage over a much longer period of time than they have. so looking at it like that ( which most would) jake is alot better than those "non-impressive QBs you stated

but what im trying to say is that i would rather have a qb that is the leader of a realy good team, than a pro bowl qb that is the leader of a realy bad team
