Irritating Bengal's Fans

So lets put it this way,

Cam Newton was never expected to do very well even in a qb friendly system in the pros.

He was supposed to struggle, Yet he went out and broke tons of rookie records, learned a very complex system and is now starting to really get into stride with how he is playing.

Andy Dalton came from a different type of system in college, is a game manager, yes does have less weapons but is known for understanding complex systems back in college.

He is winning games and looking impressive but has a defense that is second best in the league to help him out if he does struggle.

WHo do you think the journalists are going to pick?

To be fair, we don't know how complex our offense is right now. We don't know how much freedom Cam has to adjust plays at the line, etc. It's hard to tell on those streams in Nebraska.

I didn't know the discussion was who was going to win, but who should.

Cam is going to be a favorite for everything because he's Cam. Like others said, if we end up 2-14 or 3-15 and Bengals are 10-6, 9-7 and in the playoffs or the hunt, it would be hard to pass up Dalton because he is playing very well.

In the end it means nothing. It will be funny to see the Cam fans, rather than Panther fans, brag that he won the award while we could possibly sit home and watch the Bengals in the playoffs you know?

I dont see Cam winning it if we lose the rest of our games and the bengals go to the playoffs.

that would be ridiculous. But it might happen.

doesnt that make what cam newton is doing much more impressive?

No, and this is why I try and avoid talking about these things.

You don't know how much of that is going on. It could just be play design to get guys open, it could just be the players he has around him that get open, it could be Cam.

Everyone complained that Fox's pass plays lacked design, now Chud comes in with a pretty good background in play design and it's all Cam.

You have to factor it all in. Attribute it to whatever you want.

They both are impressive.

I don't know how good we are. We've beaten two teams at less than full force with QBs making their first career starts.

We lost to the cardinals who might not win another game.

We've lost to some contenders and some other pretenders.

Does that mean we're going to win 5 of the next 9? Not really sure.

I cant be optimistic about my team?

You can, but it's good to also be realistic. It's okay to realize our defense can't stop anyone and that our rookie QB that has been playing great is likely to hit a lull sooner or later. It's not likely that our DTs and LBs learn how to fill gaps and contain and blah blah blah until this season is over and they are back on the bench.

I don't think we lose out, but I don't think we go 5-4 to finish the season.
