No 1st round pick? We're ahead of the game...

A lot has been made of not having a first round pick this year. Of course we all know we got two last year so really, its like picking a first round Tackle this year who already has a year's experience.

We're the only team in the league picking a veteran in the first round this year!

I agree with this 100%.

Optimism? WTF? Away from me, Satan! There's no place for these rainbows in the stormclouds of the internet!

I usually end up watching the first 1-2 rounds of the draft. I try and catch all the Panthers picks, but with how quickly TV gets rebroadcast on the internet, I can catch the recaps of draft day past round 2.

I also agree. I'm definitely not terribly sad to see the Panthers not have a 1st round pick this year. Sure, it'd be nice, but we got two outstanding 1st rounders last year.

If one of them was a bust, sure, I'd be a little upset. But the Panthers organization did very well last year. I could easily see both Stewart and Otah end up in multiple Pro Bowls down the line.

Why don't we just trade next years 1st round pick for one this year? I wouldn't be surprised if we made a move like that on draft day.

We have a winner!

keep trading the future years's pick for the current,

then, we never actually lose the first round pick! :banghead:

it wouldn't be just the one pick we would be giving up.

it would be similar to last year where we gave up a couple extra from that draft.

we can't keep doing that. we shouldn't keep doing that.

You do remember where - and from whom - Marty Hurney learned the GM job, right?

(where's Bolt when you need him?)
