ya know, amidst all the bitching about what Rivera has done wrong, the biggest thing he did was getting the veterans to buy into his system. Yes, we're losing games, but the reality is all of these guys are fighting and believe they can win.

He's got two players - Smitty and Gamble - playing lights out after a good portion of this fanbase was convinced both should be gone after next year, or at the very least, neither were all that good anymore.

Now they're both starters and performing at a very high level.
