Who are all these FOOLS who keep talking about the Panthers needing a WR every week?

I'm not making this statement based on today. The Panthers defense SUCKS. They need to worry about rebuilding the Defense in the offseason just like they rebuilt the offense with the addition of guys like Shockey and Olsen(who hasn't done much this year), which has also allowed the Panthers receivers to get better because the other team's Defense has to account for their TEs.

They tried solidifying the Defense with Edwards, and resigning Beason, Davis, and Johnson, but when three of those guys went down, they've been exposed as having very little overall talent on that side of the ball.

If they ever made any moves during this season, it ONLY needed to be for the Defense. The offense has more than enough weapons already. What the heck would they need another WR for?

I am tired of these threads. It really doesn't make that much difference. LaFell and Legadu have both played well and have both made mistakes. I personally think Legadu is the better blocker but LaFell can too.

THE ONLY difference that Rivera has mentioned in why Legadu is #2 is that Legadu is the better leader and knows the offense very well. He helps get the players line up where they need to be and is a good vocal leader on the field. Where as Lafell is lost sometimes out there.

I don't see any reason to change things up at this point. Our offense is working very well the way it is. There are no issues.

we dont have a solid number 2 wr....thats why! we won but the facts are the facts....mcclain and fua are playing better and really need a shot at developing...a solid safety would be nice to match up on the TE in our division...

depending on who is available I could see us taking a WR (only because of BPA) but it seems like a position we do not really have a huge need at in next year's draft, because Gettis would thrive in this offense, and Legs/Lafell along with our two tight ends make up for the lack of a "true #2" receiver imho.

So what about this everyone is automatically saying that when Gettis comes back he is the heir apparent to Smitty. Gettis has no time with this new coaching staff and Lafell is steady improving and making good on his second round potential. Do you guys still view Gettis as next years #2 or is momentum swinging towards Lafell?

I don't know that Gettis is the heir apparent to Smitty but his addition can only help the receiving corps.

Legs is no longer the worst player on the team in the fans eyes, and I think he's played a lot better the last two weeks. That being said... LaFell has been AND IS DAT DEAL.

As long as he's out there about the same number of snaps and produces like he has been, I'm fine with it as is. I would like him to be the #2 guy, but Legs has been playing like a #2 as of the last two games.

I'm proud of both of them.

Gettis has had plenty of time with the coaching staff before he got hurt. And he is there everyday still working on what he can. Just because he can't physically play doesn't mean he hasn't been there working with them. Gettis is a freak. He IS better than LaFell. Imagine a bigger, faster, stronger, more physical LaFell.
