The Redskins run defense has been awful on the outside this year. The Panthers run offense has been awful on the outside this year.

Which one does better tomorrow?

I thought the run offense has been much better on the outside than up the middle.

Unless you're including screen passes as run plays, I haven't seen the Panthers do well on the outside. It has seemed like the better numbers are coming up the middle.

Am I wrong on that?

Offense is not the problem.

Our run D is so bad that the other team doesn't need a QB! Direct snaps to the RB and we lose.

We'll start to pound it on them, but Chud will ultimately throw away running the ball and go batsh*t passing happy.

Until I see our defense slow down an opponent (not stop, just slow down), it is very hard to have confidence in the outcome of a game.

It is a cyclical thing at this point. The offense tries to do more than they can due to a lack of confidence in the defense. They end up turning the ball over, putting the D in a bad position. The other team scores. Rinse and repeat.

Someone on the D needs to step up and make a play. A turnover here or there would make a huge difference in their confidence, and we would probably win a few games.

Well we are 2 in runs for more than 10 yds running right. 6 in runs for more than 10 yds on the left. Behind center? 13...

The last 3+4 weeks our running game has been top 3 and Chud is also using it more.

Our running game was getting pretty well in sync through the Saints game. It didn't quite hit on all cylinders vs. Atl. I still think it's true that Chud moves away from the run in the 4th quarter a bit too early.

DeAngelo is having a hard time running outside the tackles this season. Off center runs are the most successful, then D-Lo can bounce to the outside or cut back across the grain. Stewart is also an inside runner, but has more of a power mentality. Screens and short routes to Smitty and TEs are our best short outside plays right now. The down field threat that Cam poses should make running easier. The talent is there, the blocking is usually okay, its the play calling that's holding us back in the 4th quarter (Atl game was also that one superior play by the Falcons DE).
