If this dude ever drops off in production, he's not going to get one ounce of leeway with me for being a good "team guy". He better keep bringing it on Sunday or he's useless to this team. As soon as he falls off one step, cut his ass and let him go to Atlanta.

As a Falcons fan, I find it hilarious. As someone who understands fan hood, I would be super pissed if that was Abraham wearing a Panthers hat lol. Especially if we had just got our asses beat by them like you guys did :)

I saw Arthur Blank at TGI Fridays last week wearing a Broncos hat

Two things stand out in this thread.

1. Men that wear hats to "match" their outfits has got to be one of the gheyest things ever. Do y'all buy random said hat on a shopping trip after manicures and body waxing sessions? Match the outfit? Really? Real men either wear same hat with every jeans and t-shirt combo or wear the hat of sports team they are currently supporting in proper season.

2. The only thing gheyer than stated above is wearing a hat of a team/school you don't support cause the colors go well with chosen ear rings and designer shirt.

With that being said, I'm assuming CJ is not a pansey that has to "match" and must be a fan of the Falcons organization......which is all well and good! Most NFL players aren't playing for the team they grew up liking and its understandable that childhood team can be their second favorite team.

However, come on CJ! You have the rest of your non panther life to wear a falcons hat. Do you really need to give Falcons fans ammunition to aggrevate us Panther fans with statements about how you don't even wanna play for us? Not that it matters, but I was leaning hard towards purchasing a CJ jersey from panthers store but since his "fashion" can't support my favorite team(his employer) then my fashion cannot support him.

I just lost a lot of the respect I had for Johnson. He was a guy that I thought was a bright high-character guy, but wearing a division rivals hat...even it is your homestate team...Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.

Now with ProFootballTalk getting it, we have another reason for our team to be laughed at. Not a franchise-type move, even tho he got paid franchise-type $.

Smitty made a stupid comment tho, so it's not PFTs fault. From s guy who is so firey & passionate to basically attribute it to fashion & boldly deride team loyalty is disappointing not only for Johnson, but now Smitty too.

How do you get team cohesion while weearing other teams gear, then Smitty supporting the behavior & saying it's not about the PAnthers, but whoever the palyer wants to support?
