Practice times = moving target

It's interesting to me this year, that practice times seem to be very fluid from week to week... I wonder if the Panther suspect their practices were being scouted, so they decided to move things around a little every week to avoid establishing any sort of regular pattern?

The other thing I've always wondered is whether or not they thought I might be some kind of scout... I'm 6'6" and 300 lbs so I could very easily pass for a former player. I was also one of the few people there on a regular basis who was much more interested in watching the practice then hanging around waiting for an autograph.

...and on top of all that, they closed practice to the media (which I know is commonplace in the NFL) so they must have been concerned at some level about information being leaked from practice.

It's funny because they cover up the fence surrounding the practice fields, but it's a material you can pretty easily see through and several times last year I would walk right up to the gate where the players enter and watch through a break in the fence where there was no covering... not once did anyone ever tell me to back up or challenge me in any other way.

If you did want to scout Panthers practices last year, it would have been very easy based on my experiences.

is it just me or does no padded practices seem to increase odds of injury in the season for all teams?

Has there been any evidence that the new practice arrangements is at least reducing injuries during practice, or reducing injuries in games.

Personally I think there is nothing worse than getting injured on the practice field. Like a samurai, you want to be injured or killed during battle.

True, but the only thing worse then running a vanilla offense and defense is having the opponent scout your practices leading up to the game so they know exactly which plays in your vanilla offense and defense you're planning to run that week.

No padded practice equals sucky at tackling. You can definitely see that this year. A lot of arm tackles because the form tackling is just not there.
