Imo, if Beason, Davis, Ferris and Edwards were on the field- there's no doubt we'd be better. But it seems to me we have regressed in more than just those positions.

I think early on, our playbook had not fully been installed and it was a lot easier for cam and other players to grasp. Now id imagine most of it is probably been installed and might be more than some can handle right now. Just a thought as to why we looked a lot sharper against Green Bay and Arizona and Chicago

Me...I think that since our passing offense has been so explosive we are not doing the little things that need to be done to win the games. Mental errors and dumb penalties have to be corrected.

..or maybe that would be the way you would approach it, but I doubt that any player thinks that way.

The average NFL career is 3.5 years.

So how many years would you be willing to give up on if you had less than 3 years to impress some one to keep you on?

How may plays would you take off if you knew that you could get rolled up on at any time and that would be the end of your year not to mention career?

There is no quit for these guys because they know that at least 1/3 of them will not be back and the majority of those will never sign with another team.

Only difference with the Atlanta game from many of the others is Cam threw a meaningless garbage time pick rather than a meaningless garbage time TD.

We are not regressing at all we are progressing and evolving the offense. We aren't throwing for 400 yards a game because teams are not wildly blitzing us which makes it easy to isolate Smith on a deep route in man coverage. They are playing more spy and cover 2. Newton is having to go through more progressions instead of having hot reads and receivers in obvious 1 on 1 matchups. He is making some mistakes but that is natural and expected.

As for the offense we have increased our running game to average 120 yards a game from under a hundred yards at the beginning of the season. Some of that is the running backs and some of that is Cam. If you look at the Atlanta game and New Orleans you also notice those teams had long drives which shortened the game and made each possession very important. it also meant less opportunities to gain yards and score.

Opponents are gameplanning to stop Newton and we are working to counter those adjustments. It is a chess match which is played out each week with dozens of individual matchups.

I don't see us regressing at all. In fact I would say we are actually improving in a number of areas but they just haven't added up to wins yet. Maybe this week is the week we break through again and go on a roll.

On another note, passing is down across the league in the past 2 or 3 weeks except for a few guys like Rodgers, Brady, and Brees.

The passing game caught our first opponents off guard and now they know what to expect. It's not been shut down but teams are knowing what to expect so it's come back down to earth. They may not be regressing, but they might not be progressing as much as the other teams considered to be good.

The defense is regressing IMO. Constant change going on in the lineup and it's not an easy defense to run to begin with.

Carolina lost the 3 starters on D they simply couldn't afford to lose.....that is why our D sucks. O has played well enough to win probably every game arguabley.....

Carolina IS OVERACHIEVING overall right now.....we should not be in all every game we have played this season. Speaks volumes about Cam and this coaching staff.
