Brandon Hogan Says He's Ready To Play

remember when everyone thought Wes Welker was rushed onto the field after tearing several ligaments, he held up. if Hogan is ready lets see what he got. sorry Captain, dude you just aint getting it done anymore.

so you think hogan will come in and replace captain this year? i dont see that happening. at most I see him playing in dime and on ST. or in case of an injury a fill in at nickel. I see maybe buttler taking over the #2 CB spot and captain running in the nickle the rest of the year. I think hogan will be good, but i dont see it happening very soon.

I hate to be this way, but no one and I repeat NO ONE knew Cam would be good. Unless you had your little crystal ball and could see the future you didnt "know". It's crazy when people come out and say "See I Told You So!" I'm glad Cam is as good as he is but I didnt know he would be and neither did you. :banghead:

no actually some of us did.keep banging your head tho........

if he plays i hope so. Captain is becoming a liability and teams are really targeting him.

Agree with others who say he is not in football shape and hasn't taken a hit on the knee yet. Once that happens and everything is fine then maybe we know if he is ready. He also doesn't know the defense as well as others. Watching on the sidelines helps but taking actual reps in practice is way more important. He has done that for 1 practice, LOL.

I've heard he's been running for some time now so he might not be as out of shape as everyone thinks.

Running shape and football shape are completely different. When you have to cut and react to a receiver making a move on you, it put a ton more torque on your knee compared to making a cut on your own. Plus football shape means you can withstand direct hits to your knee since you know that teams know he had ACL reconstruction and may try and cut him intentionally.

I wonder if he is going to wear a protective brace.

remember in the preseason when every had Pilares penciled in as a player we could count on to produce as a rookie out the gate. People should learn from that.....Hogan is a rookie who has never played a down. He isn't going to come in and be an answer to anything......

because he havent had the chance. if you are a rookie and you get extensive playing time, the opportunity is there for you to make the best of it. look at the league now, rookies are making plays when giving the chance. he could be an injury or 2 away from seeing the field.

I don't really expect any siginificant contribution from Hogan this season. I am anxious to see him get reps and see some flashes of that 1-2 round talent.

Only thing I want to know is if we need to go 1st Rd CB next draft.

someone had posted previously that Mayock (who I trust more than any other analyst) said Hogan was the best man coverage guy available in the draft IIRC.

I didn't see him say that, but i did see him say he was a very underrated pick that nobody was talking about, and that the Panthers could probably plug him in to start right away.

Tape evaluation. On Cam's work ethic. He took shots at Cam's work ethic, with tape evaluation.

Nice reporting, bro.

Not that I disagree that Nawrocki was wrong, but...

Interviewer: Nolan, you had some harsh things to say about Cam off the field. Where do you get this information?

Nolan Nawrocki: Well, it all comes from tape evaluation and information gathering.

Nawrocki got played by some scout hoping to cause cam to fall to them imo.
