Hurney (you knew this thread was coming)

I dont know what you have but I know where you can put it. Seriously, there are much worse GM's out there, no one can hit a home run every time, in fact you would probably find more errors from others than from Hurney. I dont think Otah is a bust quality wise just is injured, which was kinda known pre-draft.

Because it was Hurney's fault Jenkins didn't want to play here...

Anyways, not fair to use Otah as a failure. The guy was obviously talented, injuries just brought him down. Same can be said for Davis. If you want to argue it was a fail because he didn't think to find a replacement in the past 2 years when his injuries really started piling up, that's a fair argument.

valid point, I was hesitant to put otah up there, but when it comes down to it, Otah is soft and doesn't seem to have the fire needed to be a winner. Guys like thomas davis, who have recently been hit with the injury bug I can't call a bust because they always give 100% and are pissed when they can't help. Otah just seems complacent with the whole playing in the NFL thing.

That and he also mortgaged our future to pick him up makes it look like a bad trade and investment on hurney's part.

I'll star it so people can debate it

Hurney is a joke. He is holding the team back. He got lucky with Jake and rode that as long as he could. He's never drafted a good WR. His recent draft day trades have set this team back. The spending spree will come back to bite us. We are left with no option but to build through the draft, which he sucks at.

But the Cam pick and Olsen trade will save his job.

And I will debate the kris jenkins trade. That might just be a push. yeah he was DPOY in NY, but he didn't want to play for us anymore, so it's not like we had a choice. at least we actually got something for him, unlike peppers.

I'm not faulting Hurney for trading Jenkins... but all we got was a 3rd and 5th round pick for a DT who went on the next year to be considered for the DPOY. We should have been able to get a better value from Jenkins.

Lucas was far from a failure.

Lucas had one good year here. The rest were abyssmal.

And we paid a really high price for a 25% return.

$8,400,000 signing bonus... yeah....

the fact that we got something in return for a player that didn't want to be with us is good enough for me. You might have a point with Ken Lucas. He was a solid starter for a few years but his last year or so his play dropped off exponentially. I honestly wouldn't know what to call teh lucas move.
