How will Cam handle the adversity?

Really??? Is it because you enjoy and appreciate him or just see him as an end to a means on this team.

I guess I'm going to have to weave though all the Cam threads on this site to get to a thread that is analyzing Stevie's game from Sunday. Oh yes, I did see one saying something about Nan being "garbage."..I choose not to enter that one. Kinda felt it would be quite hostile in there.

I will say, after being on here since the pre-season and reading the many threads on Cam, I definitely have to go check out the reaction towards Jimmy when he was the starting QB for this team. Something tells me I'm going to see a pattern with how u folks treat ur QBs.

see him as an end to a means? what are you even talking about?

If you want a thread on Steve Smith, make one yourself. We had one for several weeks but after a while there isn't much to say.

You may want to do a little bit of research about the team, our offense, and our quarterback situation last year before you decide to pass judgment on how people reacted to Jimmy Clausen.

But if you think we're being overly negative about Cam, you'll love what people said about Clausen.

We have fans that continue to prank and harass him on twitter, for whatever stupid reason.

Something tells me Jimmy lost his confidence with this team first. And at the rate that Cam is being used, he may end up losing confidence also. Then I guess both the team and fans will follow.

A QB is only as good as those who surround him.

hahahahaha wow you really are defending Jimmy Clausen. Look, he was in a pooty situation, no doubt about it, but he really did nothing to impress anyone. I wish him the best but he was absolutely terrible. Seriously, he had about as many good plays his entire season as Cam has had in some of his games.

As to who was surrounding him, it's true he didn't have good tight ends but he still had Smith (who he refused to throw to and some will say had a feud with) and he had David Gettis and for several games he even had a decent run game, and he still did very little.

The defense was better, still not good, but better than the one we have this year...

ohhh yes he did

Really? We must have different definitions then. Because had the WRs caught those passes Moore had a good chance of getting a win. Consistently hitting the WR only to have him drop it isn't what I consider getting manhandled.

 Tell that to Manning and Rivers, who looked like probowl guys last year while throwing to practice squad WRs.

And what gave you the idea that Jimmy lost confidence in the team? I would love to hear this one

Jimmy even apologized to the defense because his play was so bad. Please refrain from talking about any player besides Cam because it is clear you know absolutely nothing else about the team.

If we went 1-15, I imagine it would become a little rough during the last few games. While I love Cam's cockiness, he has set himself up for it and will need to try and control his emotions. Everyone game we lose, the media will continue to dog him about it. I listen to a lot of sports show podcasts at work and whenever Cam is brought up, someone always counters with the "translating into wins" argument. The good news is that this shows what level Cam is perceived to be at already, it reminds me of the "translating in Championships" arguments you hear about great QB's. The bad news is Cam doesn't seem to have much patience when people ask him about why the team can't win.

How pissed would you be if you were one of Footballisasport's professors and had to read one of his papers?

I would fuging kill myself. No way I could read all that and not bust up laughing then into a sad depression that this is what passes for college level writing.

He'd somehow blame the media for his poor grade, I'm sure of it.

From what I've seen since I've been here, way to many Panther fans seem to be directing their hate/anger/jealousy towards Cam as if attacking and ridiculing him will give some justice to their favorite ex-Panther player.

It's funny how all these new Panther fans think Cam has it bad on here. 90% of the board wants to toss his salad, 9% is pretty balanced, and maybe 1% still have reservations about him.

Last year, 99% of the board hated Clausen, ridiculed him constantly, attacked his sexuality and his looks, harassed him in public and on the internet, and maybe 1% thought he could be decent.

Yeah, Cam has it pretty bad here.

99% of the board only hated Clausen at the end of the season......last year at this time many where still deflecting Clausen's poor play elsewhere. Board was probably close to being evenly split on whether he was a joke or had potential.

6 games into his tenure, 99% of people knew he was terrible if they didn't know it before he started playing.

Not even his own mother thinks he's any good after watching 6 games.

Not true....they should of. But they didn't. Fox, the horrific OL (which wasn't horrific), doomed to fail, etc. were all used well after 6 games had been played by Clausen. I got percentage of fans though Clausen wasn't the issue but those around him.

Clausen made everyone around him much worse.....it took a LONG time for people to accept that. There were some people this preseason that though Clausen could/should win the job.

Cam has hit the Rookie wall. Kinda scary if you think about it cause his play is not all that bad.

I have no idea how you could think he's hit the "rookie wall" (a mythical concept if there was one) in only six full games. Defenses are playing their safeties back, so that's going to be an adjustment for him (and an opportunity to start tearing up the run game) but frankly, it should be viewed as an honor: coordinators actually respect his throwing ability.

Outside of that, he's shown improvement in areas every game, so I see no reason that won't continue. It's not all about stats.
