Otah to IR

I hope you are right about where we pick. About Kalil, stranger things have happened come draft time even if we do pick later in the round.

Exactly it's way too earlier to even predict where players will go in next years draft. This point in the season did anyone know Cam would leave Auburn after one season or expect him to even get drafted in the top 5? A lot can change between now and April.

“We met with Jeff over the last couple of days and decided that the best thing to do was to put him on IR so he could concentrate on strengthening the knee and essentially taking an 11-week loss for long-term, future gain.”

haha sounds familiar....

I guess that full year off last season was just not enough.

How many first round OL that has been starting since his rookie season ever settle to be a backup 3 years after being drafted by said team?

how many have been on IR every year of those 3.....can't compare an apple to an orange.

Unless there is reason to believe Otah won't be willing to be depth next season....no reason to cut him.

I am honestly not surprised or too upset about it. We've played more games without him than with him (it seems like at least) since he's been drafted. Can't miss something that isn't ever there. I'm 100% behind byron bell and expect good things from him this year. if he fails then we move on and get a different O-lineman who isn't made of glass and keep byron as a backup.

I don't know if we will need to address OT with our first pick, remember we still have schwartz and williams coming back next year, and we still have Ziemba as well. all of them are young. If bell finishes the year strong, I say we move forward with our young guys and address the situation at WR, DT, or LB with our first pick.
