Otah to IR

“He's worked hard. He's just never been able to get over the hump,” Panthers general manager Marty Hurney said. “Then he's had concurrent issues. He's been listed as questionable the last two weeks with a back injury.

“We met with Jeff over the last couple of days and decided that the best thing to do was to put him on IR so he could concentrate on strengthening the knee and essentially taking an 11-week loss for long-term, future gain.”

Quote:

“There's no recipe on how long it takes for an injury to come back, especially a knee injury to a person of Jeff's size and a big offensive tackle. Every individual, every injury is different. So I think it's hard to go into length of time,” Hurney said.

Hurney said not being able to rehab at the team's facility during the lockout also might have affected Otah's recovery. But Hurney said he thinks the long-term outlook for Otah, 25, remains positive.

“I think we're confident and I think he's confident that he can work and get it strong, and the future will be bright.”

    • I think the Bucs and Eagles take care of us but we turn around and beat the Cowboys.  ATL and/or AZ could be wins depending on which version of them you get. TB knows Canales’ offense, and Coen has been calling great games. I have a hard time seeing us beat them this season. 4-13 floor 6-11 ceiling, would be surprised to see 7-10
    • My conundrum right now is, even if we have the top pick, I'm not sure if any QB in this year's draft class excites me. Too much questions with them for me to be comfortable handing the reigns for now. Even in FA, the QB class doesn't look enticing. At this point, the smarter move may be to see if Bryce can hit his pre-draft potential and start looking more like a franchise QB consistently while building up our weak points on defense.  Just not confident in the upcoming QB draft class this year would do any better than current Bryce, and that's with me questioning if Young can keep up this level of play.
    • Not buying any of this. Sorry.
