Beck to start for the Redskins

we let forte get 200+ yards, gave them a interception for a TD, and gave hester 14 points, and still were in the game.....

not often you spot a team 21 points and still have a chance to win, and none of those 21 points was on our defense

... But 200 yards? C'mon man, it's a flaw in our defense. I think we'll shut the run game down to ~90 yards though with the focus on the run game this week.

Redskins will be without their starting left tackle, left guard, and tight end. There's good reason to think we'll have success against their running game, especially since they don't have anyone you'd call a premier back.

That said, I would much rather be facing Grossman than Beck.

Until the D proves they can stop a team from running over us, there's no good reason to think we'll have success against any teams running game.

it wont matter if he hands off the ball half of the time. Beck though has his weaknesses, he throws a low ball sometimes and hasnt started a meaningful game since 2007. if the panthers defense stops the run and makes Beck beat them, they should win and if Hall is covering Smith, Newton should attack Hall all day. Hall is prone to giving up big plays.

I'm not gonna assume we shut them down...but there's at least cause for hope. So far we've faced:

Beanie Wells

Green Bay

Maurice Jones-Drew

Matt Forte

New Orleans

Michael Turner

The Skins don't belong anywhere on that otherwise impressive list. I'd put them below Arizona and Jacksonville offensively, as they pertain to a matchup against our defense.

The Skins defense, however, is for real. Good CBs (when Hall has his head in the game), excellent LBs and lots of size on the line. If we can score on the Skins, we'll win, but that's no piece of cake.

I honestly hope the beginning of the game Sunday goes like this:

Panthers receive to start the game.

Score a TD.

Force a turnover on kick off.

Score a TD.

Force another turnover on kick off.

Score a TD.

Pray Redskins OC feels like they have to pass the rest of the game to keep up.

Pray our OC figures out a balance attack would be best to protect the lead.

I think they are a top 5 rushing team.

I don't think Beck is much of an issue, I kind of feel like he is going to struggle a bit..I am more concerned about stopping the run, we are giving up an average of 174 yards on the ground so even though Torian struggled against the eagles last week I expect him to have an all-star day on our run defense, hopefully I am wrong......but alas our history to date kind of supports that.
