What happens to Jstew this offseason?

Stewart is on his way to being the all time leading rusher for the team. No way in hell should we trade him. He has reached the point now where he is more valuable than Williams. Regardless if you think DWIll is better than him at the moment. JStew could be a premier RB for another 6 years and still be an effective bowling ball past that point.

I know a lot of us don't want to think about it bc he is such a beast, but what is really the teams plan regarding him. He deserves starter money, all day long, but are the Panthers really willing to invest $100 mil in RB's alone?(especially with so many other needs on the team). Hate to think of getting rid of Stew, but what is the possibility he gets traded this offeason? And for what?

Edit: Forgot to mention he only has one year remaining on his rookie deal after this season.

They both should/could have been signed on Dwills $43 million extension

100 million in running backs?

Let's try and remember only 21 million of Dwill's contract is guaranteed, this isn't baseball. He'll likely be gone in 3 years and never see 20 million of the extension.

The cap figures will increase next year. Some of you people seem to be under the impression that cap figures are a static figure from year to year. Remember the league has a new TV contract coming up in the near future that will inevitably give cap figures a HUGE boast.

The CBA states on future contracts that the expected cap for next season will be around 5 million more then it is now. Same for the season after, the new TV deal will kick in during the 2014 season.

It is a strange situation. I feel like Stew doesn't want to leave this team, but I don't know him as a person and when it comes down to it football is a business. I wouldn't blame Stew if he leaves for a big paycheck, time in the NFL is short especially for a RB.

Hopefully, Marty can work some more of his restructuring magic this offseason and make room for him. He deserves the money.

i think he will want to stay with DeAngelo and this team. I think he will take what we can afford to give him.

Odds are he'll want to go to Seattle since he was born in the State of Washington and he went to college at Oregon...especially since the Panthers likely won't be able to pay him, or maybe they will, but I doubt it'll matter.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't want to go "home" after this contract is up.

well with the way RB's are drafted now we could probably draft a good back in the 2nd or 3rd rounds in the 2013 draft..not saying i don't like stewart but it's a possiblity

i don't know how this mentality has been propagated but it's totally false.
