Overachievers and Underachievers

to sum it up, the chart suggests we are a monster, yard-eating offense that marches down the field but can't score in the red zone, commits stupid penalties and turns ball over at terrible times while our defense can't make a stop and get turnovers.

sounds spot on if you ask me.

indeed.

thanks for the summary phillyb. i was in a hurry to get out of the office when i posted this yesterday. the encouraing thing about all this (which we really already know since we watch the damn games after all) is that we would be in great company if we could fix a few mistakes. embedded in that point is that our offense can overcome our defensive deficiencies (see Patriots comma New England). nothing riveting or groundbreaking, just putting some numbers on the degree to which we are underachieving due to certain elements of the game that we can fix.

I never post on here anymore but this thread made such a refreshing change from all the whiner rants and descriptions of where people would like to deposit various body fluids in the vicinity of Mr Newton that it brought me out of lurkerdom.

Bravo I say, the huddle needs more analysis of this calibre. It mainly confirms what we already knew but at least it's backing up opinion with fact.
