Fox Speaks on Peppers

i think it was pretty close to 12% in '08 and we did ok. pep got just over $14mil and the cap was at around $116mil.

finally ---- a true and non-chicken-little answer to the peppers cap situation ---- $14 million last yr and $16 this year is not a remarkable difference at all.

Lets put it in even simpler terms for some, last year after his 14 million went off the books we had 102 million to spend on the rest of the team. While this season after his 17 million comes off the books we will have 110 million that we can use on other players. An increase of 8 million in cap room from last year to this year counting peps increased hit to the cap. We just happened to use that money on Gross, which is a good investment if you ask me.

No matter how little more he'd actually be making this season, the fact is we're strapped. This is why so many people have been extended this off-season and why Jake may be next. He can argue all he wants about how Pep's pay isn't as crazy as the common fan may think, but the truth is, if we're strapped, it shows poor cap management by the FO over the past few years. And comparing him to Bono and Elton John is retarded, they don't have salary caps, genius.
