/r/nfl trying to say Dalton deserves RoTY over Newton

Let's see how Dalton does when his defense is giving up points left and right and the running game isn't working. He is averaging what, about 25 pass attempts per game?

funny thing about this is that the Bengals actually have a worse rushing attack than we do and Dalton has thrown the ball 30 or more times in every game he's played save for week 1. They're also relying on him to make the key throws and win them the game, just like we are, the difference between why he is getting wins and Cam is not is from other aspects of the game.

He's not as good as Cam but I think if he and the Bengals both keep playing like they are, he has a legitimate shot at roty. Obviously this would have to mean that Dalton and the Bengals actually do something against the Steelers and the Ravens. Right now I think it goes to Cam, but at the end of the season it could be different.

I can see why fans of other teams might not understand what Cam has done for us.

Honors are measured by wins and losses, Cam wins due to popularity. He has more INT's than touchdowns and we are 1-5. There is a strong case that we are 0-6 getting blown out without him, but it all comes down to wins and losses.

He's going to have to do a few things to win it.

Start eliminating the Int.

Start winning games. <- Doesn't have to be a whole lot of them, but he needs to win at least 5-6 for the season I think.

dalton will get credit for leading a losing franchise to a respectable/winning season.

As a dad and business owner I often have to tell myself to stfu and get it done. Wins are everything the excuses and bs around here are laughable. Hopefully we will win some, but if we don't and Dalton continues to win he deserves it. Excuses are bs in a man's world.

I disagree. I wouldnt take Dalton over an injured Cam but plenty of people are saying he is better, just look at the nfl.com discussion crap. Most of those people probably didnt like Cam to begin with or haven't watched or claim he is just a stat ***** or find irrelevant reasons that he has better stats than others. Also the win differential is kinda overwhelming.

if you're talking about who is the better pure passer maybe they don't or are diminished, but they count on some fairly major level when you're talking about overall quality of play

Do you even read threads you post in? This one was made precisely because there are people on another board who think Dalton deserves the award over Cam, which kinda defeats the entire premise of your argument that this only happens here.

Have they stated Dalton is playing better than Cam and done more as a rookie? Its one thing to give a guy praise, its another to say he's the best. Which is what Im disputing. The only place I see that implied is HERE. The only fans I know who look for QB after QB to proclaim better than Cam Newton are the "Panther fans" who post here. Ive seen them do this for almost a year now. Being blessed enough to have watched both of these guys play this season its a joke we have fans here seeing all they've seen say Dalton deserves ROY over Cam. Thats just laughable. Now if you want to argue Marvin Lewis deserves COY consideration I could understand.
