/r/nfl trying to say Dalton deserves RoTY over Newton

Who are the many???

The Bengals wouldn't have been in the market for a QB if Carson wasn't acting like a two year old.

Anyway, take nothing away from Dalton but he didn't win the first game. The back up QB did. And it was won convincingly...So that is saying a lot. Dalton only really has one win over Cam..

sidenote...NFLN is re-airing the Lions/49ers game now. I guess they will be showing it all the way to the end. I wonder if the coaches are miked???Talk about highligh of the game..

Anyway, back to the topic. Did u say ur defense was better last year??? were they better cause the offense wasn't that good or were they actually better? also the Bengals beating the Panthers because of the defense and everyone thought that they d-team would tighten up come real season...So much for that thought.

the backup QB scored as many points as Dalton did. When Dalton was in, the offense had 13 points to 14 when the backup was in. Just so happens that Benson broke off a 49 yard run with under 2 minutes to go that sealed that game, it wasn't all that convincing before that point (20 to 17). So I don't know why you say he deserves more credit than Dalton for it, but that doesn't matter.

RE: Bengals not in the market for a QB, not sure what you mean. People thought they were going for Luck *this year*, the year that, you know, that Palmer was refusing to play for them. At draft time they knew they had to get a QB in case Palmer stuck to his word, they liked Dalton and wanted to upgrade other positions in the first so it worked out for them. Now, they're unlikely to be in position for Luck and who knows if they want them. This is quite a bit different from where people thought they'd be given the FAs they lost etc...

Back to the Panthers. Our defense was better last year, yes, but it wasn't all that great... injuries wrecked us this year I think, but reality is what it is.

But..but...but...The Golden Calf of Bristol...I thought everyone said he isn't accurate?

that is what people say, dunno how true it is. Sometimes the unknown seems like a better option than the known. There's more than accuracy to being a QB too, maybe Fox and co thinks his other skills will make up for that.

If we had played the Bungles schedule we'd have them in spades.

This is true. The Bengals have played a lighter sched that we have. But the big difference is Dalton has the #1 D in the league in his locker room. If cam had that D we would be 5-1 or 6-0 and winning each game by 17 or more. Bottom line. Cam is far more Dynamic than Dalton with a huge upside compared to Dalton. Now I am not knocking Dalton he looks to have moxy and some skills. He looks to have a bright future ahead of him. But he is not even in the same hemisphere as Cam Newton.:patriot:

Because he's getting better each week, he has 3 games with over 100% QB rating versus only 1 by Cam, including 2 back to back, the past 2 weeks and ..........he's winning. He's a better game manager so far. He's also proven to be a better 4th quarter QB so far. Andy Dalton has had 4 game winning drives in the 4th quarter which all directly resulted in wins versus 1 by Cam. It's not even close.

Yards mean poo. Wins are what matters. 4th quarter points and drives to seal the game is what makes a QB stand out and a hero.

This is a poor assessment of the situation. Again if Dalton had our D he would not even be in those games. You say he is a better game Manager thats great. How often do game managers win the super bowl? Not much. It is not close at this point in history Cam is far superior to Dalton. It is humorous that one would even suggest they are that close.:iamwithstupid:

HA HA HA 10 wins they still have to play the Steelers and Ravens twice. That's 4 losses. So you are suggesting that they will beat everyone else which includes at Tenn and Houston at Home no way. I will give you Seattle- Rams-Browns and Cards as possible wins so I see them at 8-8 at best more likely 7-9:nono::nono:

for all the highlight material that cam produces, he and dalton can have the same stat line at the end of the season.

cam is on a downward slope. dalton just churns out consistency.

in the end, wins are all people will see.

dalton will get credit for leading a losing franchise to a respectable/winning season.

cam will be seen as the leader of a losing franchise.

acknowledging this is not turning your back on your team/qb. It is reality.

So this is reality? Cam is on a downward slope? 6 games into the season. I guess using that Logic Tom Brady is on a downward Slope he has failed to match the production of his first 2 games this season. Calm the Freak down you band wagon fans. When the season ends and Cincy is 6-10 or 7-9 and we finish 5-11 or 6-10 Cam will have the ROY in the bag. No wonder the rest of the NFL thinks we have a stupid fan base because we do!:iamwithstupid:

i'm not pulling for dalton to win roty. i could care less about the award. to claim that cam is a lock 6 games into the season is ridiculous.

just fyi...i wanted dareus in the first, and dalton in a later round.

the team would have had anchors for both sides of the ball for years to come.

as it is now, the defense is 2-3 seasons away from being relevant.

lol that anchor is really making a difference on buffalo's 31st ranked defensive line against the rush, 2nd worst only to the panthers. they're dead last in rushing the passer btw. dareus isn't "anchoring" anything at this point and his impact on his team is miniscule in comparison to newton, whether or not we're winning games.
