Whatever though. I'm not trying to argue that we handled the DWill situation wrong. I don't think we could have gotten anything significant for a 28 yo running back entering free agency the next year, that's all I'm trying to say.

Hurney has made moves that would get a lot of GM's fired. If we moved on from him, I wouldn't be upset. He has drafted well in the first round and it's set up a very nice building block for the team.

Hell with Dwayne Jarrett they didn't even have to negotiate. Jarrett's agent Rosenhaus, completely on his own, went and worked out a trade with another team and brought it to the Panthers FO. He did all the legwork for the team. Literally all Hurney had to do was say "OK" and it would have been a done deal. This wasn't Jarrett's first or second season either it was his 4th year in the league, after we drafted 3 WRs, DJ was often inactive on gamedays and very shortly before we cut him but Hurney still refused to make a deal.

Here's a direct quote from Jarrett about it

My agent has worked on that behind the scenes. We had a couple of talks about a couple of things. Of course, they don’t want to let me go or anything like that because they feel like I can help out the team. I guess it’s a matter of me getting that opportunity to help out the team.
